The next day Sophie was forced out the door by Edaline, scared half to death by a huge, feathery, green lizard, laughed at by Keefe, who came to get her for school and happened to arrive at the exact moment the giant fluffasaurus chose to chase her, and SHE HAD TO ATTEND SCHOOL! Her parents had called it... Foxfire? Sophie still hadn't quite figured out why they named it after a fungus. I'll have to ask... Her mind started to say 'Fitz', but thinking his name filled her with a strange, irrational kind of anger. Almost like she knew him before... But she had known him before. She just didn't remember him. "Hey, Keefe?" She asked, walking over. He glanced at her.
"Yeah Foster?" He responded, raising his eyebrows.
"Keefe, why do I feel angry whenever I think of Fitz?" She asked seriously. She wasn't sure why she asked, but she felt that... she needed to know. Keefe sighed.
"You know, I think I'm going to let Fitz tell you." She glared at him.
"I'm not talking to Fitz until I know why I hate him."
"Too bad then, Foster. I'm not saying anything. But maybe Biana will do it for poor Fitzypoo." He grinned. "And as much as I love ditching class, I think maybe, just for today, mind you, I might not give Grady a hard time. But only because it's his first time teaching, he hates me, I want to live, and I want to be allowed to be your friend." He smirked.
"Ughhhhh... fiiiiiiiine. We can go to Foxfire. But you don't seem like the type to follow rules, do you?" She smiled, trying to think of him going to school. "Yeah, I'm trying to imagine you at school, and I keep coming up with a lot of pranks, ditching, and 'The dog ate my homework!'. Why do I think of that kind of stuff when... I don't even remember you?" He smiled back, though his was sad.
"Because you didn't forget as much as you think you did. Sophie?" He dug through his pocket. Eventually, he came up with a small, clear marble. Elves have marbles? Sophie wondered as he placed it in her hand carefully.
"What's the marble for?" She asked innocently, looking at- swirly lights, maybe? She didn't know. Keefe chuckled a little.
"No, Sophie. It's not a marble." He said. "Be very careful with it!" He cried as she almost dropped it.
"Why? What's so important?" Sophie asked alarmed. She suddenly got the feeling this was much more important than some kids' toy.
"Sophie, that 'marble' holds fifteen different forgotten secrets." Sophie stared at him blankly, but her mind started to shift. Those words, 'Forgotten secrets.' They were important.
"Keefe, I don't know-"
He cut her off. "Sophie... This is your cache."
A/N MUAHAHAHA!!! Did you like my cliffhanger? I thought it was quite Shannon-worthy myself. Don't worry, I'll update soon. But be warned, SOPHIE IS GOING TO DIE!!!
Kidding, kidding. Not even I am that mean. Well, don't forget to comment and vote! Chow for now!
