Chapter Nine
"Yeah...I know for sure now..."
I sit up before I actually open my eyes.
"Yay."
I smile, frown, and smile again; what's wrong with me. I open my eyes, that's the real mistake, my eye's burn.
"Ugh, ouch."
"Ivy? Are you okay?"
"Oh, yes sorry." I look to see who is talking, it's Drew, I smile.
"Here's some water. Maybe it will...help you?" I take it and drink, then look to see that; Paige, Henry, Octavia, Nicki, and Ben are all surrounding me, I feel my eyes widen, and I say softly,
"What are all of you doing here?" Drew looks at me, his eyes flashing guilt.
"Ivy..." Then nothing, after a moment of waiting I prompt him,
"Yes?"
"We know why you have been...tired and sluggish lately ." My eyes widen again as I say softly,
"You do?" Drew looks remorseful, but proceeds to say,
"Yeah...it's my fault, I'm really sorry."
"Don't be sil-"
Octavia cuts me off,
"Ivy, we know about..." I stare at Octavia for a moment waiting, she doesn't say anything, look from face to face, waiting for some sort of explanation, I decide to say something,
"What do you know about?" Nobody responds.
"Guys? Why are you acting so strange?"
"Ivy, I don't think you understand, we know."
"Guys, I don't know what you 'know.'"
"Stop playing dumb Ivy." Nicki practically snaps at me. I just blink dumbly at her. I look back at Drew and say quietly,
"Uhhh, Drew?"
"Yes?"
"Can I tell you something...like come here and I'll whisper it to you." He leans over for me to whisper in his ear. "Can you just break it to her that I'm not 'playing' dumb, that I'm actually just dumb. I don't know how to without seeming rude..." A laugh escapes his mouth.
"You really don't know do you?"
"Uh..no?"
"Guys, I think she actually has no idea what we're talking about." Nicki's jaw drops, she says,
"How? How does she not know?"
"I don't know, but she doesn't." None of them look like they believe him, I speak up for myself,
"Guys...I don't know what's going on or what you're talking about, but I genuinely have no idea." There is what feels like a awkward silence, it sits for a good five minutes before Octavia breaks it,
"Okay...so Ivy hun., you..."
"I?"
"You are going to think we're all crazy, well I mean we all are crazy; I mea-"
"Oh gosh Octavia, this isn't helping."
Nicki says with a roll of her eyes, a silence fills the whole room again, this one just tense. I barely dare to breath, Drew breaks it this time,
