Iwazumi was like a brother to you even though he wasn't. Whenever Oikawa would tease you over something. Iwazumi would hit Oikawa and tell him to stop. Though Oikawa liked you and soon the two of you started dating. It hurt Iwazumi mainly cause he had fallen for you. Though he was happy with you and Oikawa. Though he wish he could go back and warn you about him.
Tears ran down your cheek as you walk back to the gym. You and Oikawa were almost together for a year. You always gave him a second chance after a fight. He meant everything to you, but you didn't mean a thing to him. You took the necklace he gave you off and walked in the gym. Everyone was surprised by your current state. No one had seen you cry. Iwazumi looked at you since you were walking towards him. He knew Oikawa must have done something bad to make you cry. You held the necklace out to Iwazumi. "Just take the necklace and tell him to leave me alone..." you stared into Iwazumi's eyes. He took the necklace out of your hand gently. Once he did that you grabbed your stuff and walked away. All that was on your mind was to be home.
"What did you do Oikawa?" Iwazumi glared at the boy. "What do you mean?" Oikawa asked innocently, for he thought you were still around. "Cut the act. (Y/N) went home because of you. She came in here with tears falling from her cheek." Iwazumi threw the necklace at Oikawa. It honestly surprised him. No one saw you cry ever. Oikawa eyes widen in realization. He just looked down guilt started to form inside of him. Iwazumi took a guess at what he did. "SHITTYKAWA WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!!!" Oikawa didn't say a word. "You meant the world to her. She did everything to support you, even if it almost cost her job. She loved you Oikawa. And now she's probably home alone crying because of your selfish ass." Iwazumi just grabbed his stuff and walked out of the gym. He was not about to let you lay in bed and cry. Oikawa messed up big time. You weren't going to forgive him for a good while.
As soon as Iwazumi arrived to your home he knocked on the door. Your mother answers the door with a smile. "Hello Iwazumi! May I help you with something!" He smiled at your mom. "May I talk to (Y/N) I couldn't reach her on her cell." He made a excuse since you didn't like telling your mom stuff. Your mom just nodded saying he knows where you were. When he reached your door he was hearing music and muffled sniffing. He simply knocked and wait for you to answer. You open the door slightly. "Yes...?" You look up at him. He looked like he was in deep thought. "Iwa~Chan?" You look at him again seeing him snap out of whatever trance he was in. A small giggle escaped from your mouth. "Hey...you want to talk about what happened?" He looked at your eyes that were probably red from crying. You just nodded at the male and opened the door wider for the male to enter. Once he entered your room, you closed your door and sat on your bed. "There's not much to say Iwazumi...I..." You look down at your hands not sure what to say. Iwazumi walked towards you and sat down beside you. "Hey I know it's hard to talk about this stuff...Just know I'm here." Iwazumi gave you a side hug. You weren't sure what to do. "Thank you..." You give him a small smile. Soon enough you broke down and told him what happened. Iwazumi just kept you beside him and soon you fell asleep. He laid you down on your bed so you were comfortable. You were out and honestly you needed the sleep. Once he got home, he sent a you a little text.
The next morning you woke up to your alarm. Annoyed you turned it off and stared at your ceiling. You really didn't want to see Oikawa, but now you had no choice but to. In a slow manner you got ready for school and soon left the house. You hadn't checked your phone yet, but when you did a smile formed.

Morning Iwazumi! Thank you for listening to me last night. I'll see at school.❤️
You smiled as you walked. Iwazumi was always there for you, no matter what. Reaching the school gate you see Iwazumi and Oikawa talking. "Oikawa just let her be. (Y/N) is hurt by what you did. I thought I could trust you to keep her heart not broken." Iwazumi was glaring at Oikawa. "(Y/N) meant a lot to me, but why can't I talk to her and try to reason with her?!" Oikawa sent a quick glare but softened his gaze at you. "Cause she won't be doing that anymore. I wish I could have told her everything before you got with her. Oikawa I'm your friend, but I also(Y/N)'s friend...I'll protect her no matter what." Iwazumi looked down at his phone. His lock screen was the two you hugging. "You will protect her cause you love her. I... want you to talk to her about your feelings towards her. She needs to know..." Oikawa looks at Iwazumi then at you. You walked up to the boys acting like you didn't hear a word. "Morning..." You mumble and continued walking to class.
When the bell rang for lunch, you just stared out the window. "Yo.." You look up to Iwazumi. "Hm?" He looks down. "Let's go eat lunch on the roof." Iwazumi stood there, then smiled at you. You smile and stand up grabbing your stuff in the process. "Yea lets go.." The two of you walk side by side talking about the practice match they will be having. "Do you want to watch the game? You can always ride with me back home." Iwazumi stared up the stairs as he talked. "I'll go. I really want to see Karasuno's players." He smiles at your words as you two reach the roof. "You know lamekawa seems a bit hurt by what happen.." Iwazumi looks down at you. You stayed silent. "(Y/N)...sorry..I just want to protect you..I've always done that, but I didn't warn you about him." He looks down at his lunch. "I'm not blaming you for what happened. Honestly if that hadn't of happened I would probably still give him more chances." You look up at him. "But I also realized who actually likes me. Cause I know Oikawa just liked the idea of me.." Iwazumi looks into your eyes, confused at your words. "What do you mean?" He asks before he saw you getting close to his face. "I figured out the person I should have been with from the start. He's always protecting me. He always makes me smile. He's my best friend." Iwazumi looked at you still confused. You were to close he could feel your breathing against his lips. "That person is right in front of me...I like you..." you mumbled the last words not sure if he heard it. Iwazumi smiles and closes the space you two had. When the two of you part for air he still has a smile. "I like you too. I always will..."
