Trinity’s P.O.V

I slid into a chair in the far back of the room letting my eyes scan all the movement in great detail. My eyes caught every flicker of movement, I noticed the woman and the man sitting to my far left, and I watched as the woman slipped her hand off the table to the mans thigh, I observed a man pickpocketing the woman he was dancing with. Long before I saw any of this, I felt his acute and fierce gaze on me from across the room. I elegantly danced my gaze around it all the while keeping a sharp hold on his presence perhaps I will humor him. I lightly held a cup in my out stretched hand; its contents were the blood of an extremely whiny blonde. I put the cup to my mouth parting my lips enough to let the thick warm rich liquid slip down my throat. I placed the cup on the table in front of me; in one swift movement I stood, turned my body towards him, and met his gaze straight on. I tilted my head to one side letting my long hair slide over my shoulder; I strode toward him letting my hips sway seductively. The room quieted and the only sound was click of my heels echoing through the room, before the room erupted in the busy noise of chatter. I reached his table, and sat down crossing my legs, allowing the slit in my dress to expose my legs.

“Trinity. It has been a while.” His voice was the same, dark, husky, and luring as always. I felt my lips twist into a wicked smile, as I leaned in toward him.

“Shall we skip the pleasantries and speak openly?” I asked my voice dripping malevolence, and hostility. His eyes noticeably hardened and he suddenly became even more closed off.

“You lead me in circles. I was confused all those years ago when you came to me, telling me you would help me find the prophecy and its guardian. You would rather have me killed than find her. You have betrayed me, when I trusted you.”  I leaned in even closer to him, reaching my hand into his coat pocket and removing his key, my mouth gently touching his ear as I whispered to him:

“ I am not your enemy, Grayson. Your greatest enemy is within yourself that leads you toward temptation.” I pulled away and as I said temptation I looked down to my crossed legs, I felt his gaze follow mine and a brief smirk touched my lips. I stood up and without another glance in his direction I walked toward the door. I rested my hand on the doorframe and turned around, I brought the key I had successfully pick pocketed from him, up in the air and dangled it from the string it rested on. Thinking the string was useless I pulled it off and let it gently float to the ground, his eyes met mine then noticed the key. He stood up instantly slipping his hand into his pocket, and while his head was down, I slipped out the door, running at my inhumane speed.

Aside from the fact that I was obviously a badass vampire I was pretty normal. I was like any other 21 year old out there, sure I was more of an introvert than an extrovert, but my roommate and BFF would drag me to the occasional party and show me off.  Brittany my best friend and I attended the same University in “sunny” Oxford but we shared an apartment off campus. I sat at the kitchen with a cup of coffee in hand and a pounding headache watching Britt run around the apartment like a chicken without its head. She was obviously looking for something, but I found the search far too amusing to ask what she was looking for. Brittany was on her knees sticking her hand into the couch mumbling curse words to herself, giving up she stood and ran her hands through her long blonde hair. She looked over in my direction meeting my eyes; I picked up the newspaper from the counter and held it high enough to cover my eyes. She let out a strange muffled groan/ monkey noise, I rolled my eyes and put the paper down and jumped off the kitchen stool.

“Okay, fine. Curiosity kills cats, so… what are you so dramatically looking for?” I asked stifling a yawn and glaring at her. Only half an hour ago I was sleeping peacefully dreaming of gorgeous shirtless men at the beach, -it really is a shame it’s the middle of winter. – When Britt kicked my door open like a crazy person at 6 in the morning lifted up my mattress making me crash to the floor, startling me awake. And without a word my psychotic friend -obviously not finding whatever she was looking for- just walked out of my room.

“Derek’s grandmothers bracelet! I was wearing it yesterday but this morning I woke up and I wasn’t wearing it. Shit Steph! He’s going to kill me, it’s like really important!” Derek was Brittany’s boyfriend of 2 years and on their two-year anniversary Derek gave her the most exquisite gold charm bracelet that was given to his grandmother by his grandfather. I rubbed my eyes on last time and stretched now understanding why she was acting like a psychotic maniac. I was about to suggest we retrace her footsteps from yesterday to this morning but the phone rang before I could even open my mouth.

“You keep looking, I’ll answer the phone.” She nodded and got down on her hands and knees searching every square inch of the floor. Going to extremes much?
