"so betty, i've been thinking" posie began as she changed AJ.
they were in betty's room, mariposa sitting on the floor with her baby, and betty at her desk. mariposa was helping betty edit some of her work for the blue and gold before she had to go to track practice.
betty took her eyes off her laptop for a moment to look at mariposa, signalling for her to continue.
"maybe i should tell your friends about AJ,"
betty considered it for a few seconds. she was surprised that posie didn't want to tell her own friends, though that would only include cheryl and evie, and evie already knew, and posie didn't trust cheryl.
"okay, yeah, i trust them. are you sure you want to though?" betty wondered.
she nodded, but in truth she wasn't sure. but she had been thinking about what luca and her had talked about. how so many things would be easier if people knew. if she told betty's friends, some of which were becoming hers- like kevin and veronica, - then she would be one step closer to living an easier life.
if that was even possible with the year she'd had.

mariposa smiles as veronica and kevin teased betty about trev.
"why is everything so weird here?" veronica said, "why can't a date just be a date?"
mariposa shook her head and giggled. she became quickly nervous. she was going to tell them today, but she didn't know how they would react. and it scared her.
"how about you archie," the raven haired girl continued, "how's life in a pg world?"
everyone looked at her funny as she placed one of her fries in her mouth. "pg, post grundy. what, too soon?"
mariposa rolled her eyes but she almost had to laugh. betty told her about archie's drama with the music teacher and he definitely deserved that.
archie sighed, "coach clayton says i have a shot at varsity captain so i'm not thinking about anything else right now,"
betty turned to whisper something to archie, but posie didn't pay any attention. she was too busy thinking about a good way to break the news. she would also have to wait for the right moment. she would be lying if she said she wasn't fretting.
