The night hell froze over

Chapter 1

Winter is in full blaze as snow shoots down from the clouds. A powerful snow storm rages the town,snow covers the ground travel is impossible. A teen boy trudges through the snow on his way home from school, he's 16 a milado skin boy with broad shoulders, a tight chest and a small gut. His short black hair being plastered with the white snow. He walks up his stairs and into his house his mother sitting on the couch watching tv greets him he waves to his mom plops down on the couch and sighs. She looks over at him and sees he's depressed. "What's wrong baby" she asks. He sighs looks at his mother and summons up all the courage he can and responds. "Mom why don't girls like me"? He says with his soft brown eyes looking straight into his mothers. Absolutely stunned at what he just said, she picks up the remote turns off the tv then turns so she's looking at her son. "I don't know your a smart boy, sweetest man i know not to mention you look like a black 007 when you get all dressed up" she says trying to make her son feel better. He smiles at what her response gets up and goes into his room. He sits down at his desk and pulls out drawing book, he opens it inside drawings that depict his greatest fantasy one of action love and sorrow. Only one other person(other than his mother) has seen that is his best friend delilah. She's his age long flowing brown hair dark brown eyes and an upbeat personality they've been friends threw all of middle school and they tell each other everything. He starts drifting off when his mother calls him"Latrell dinner". He quickly snaps back into reality and goes down to the kitchen, he walks in and sees his family around the table. His grandma, his father, and his mother he sits down at the table and goes to take some food when his mother quickly smacks his hand with her spoon he, yelps and pulls his back in pain. His grandma takes his hand and his father proceeds to say grace. After the family digs in and starts to devour the tasty meal of mash potatoes meat loaf and corn. His father did the dishes and latrell goes back to his room he looks over at his computer and sees a call come in from delilah. Latrell walks over to his computer and accepts the call, "hey delilah" he says happily. "Hey latrell, we gotta talk". Latrell frightened by what she said starts thinking about what he did recently to make her mad at him. "My dad thinks we're going out so i need you to play along when you come over tomorrow". Latrell sighs in relief at what she said. "Thank god i thought you were mad at me about something". She laughs at what he said and is about to respond when there's a knock at latrells door. "Be right back". He walks downstairs and opens the door in the doorway are to police officers. His mom runs over and is thrown off by the sight. "Can i help you officers" she asks puzzled. "No ma'am we're going door to door making sure everyone stays in there homes something". They both look at each other then back at the officers."The storm is really bad and won't let it up anytime soon so we're advising everyone to stay in there homes". "Can do officers thank you" his mother says while closing the door, the officers start walking back to there car when i car speeds down the roads down the road, there tires get locked up and crash into a tree the tree falls over and lands on the squad car. Latrell runs over with the officers to the car to see if there okay. In the drivers side a young man in his mid 20's caucasian light blonde hair

and soft blue eyes. There's a younger girl in the passengers seat about the same age as latrell maybe a little older. In the back are two sick children around 5 and 7. The mans head is all bloody and the kids look very sick. The cops open the door and get the kids out latrell pries open the drivers door puts his arm around his neck and pulls him out the car and drags him over to the porch. The cops sit the kids down on the porch and start to go back for the woman when the car explodes the blast throws them into the snow,they get up and stand in aww of the burning car. Latrells mom comes out and tells everyone she just called for an ambulance she sits down next to the children and wraps a blanket around them. The ambulance arrives with a fire truck and two more squad cars, the newly arrived officers take the families report then walk over to there colleagues and whisper to them as if they were keeping something from the family. The firemen put out the fire and recover the womans body, the paramedics put the charcoaled body carefully into a body bag and place it on a gurney then cart it into the ambulance. Latrell's phone rings he pulls it out of his pocket and checks the caller i.d to his surprise it's delilah,she had been calling him threw this whole thing he shrugged and accepted her call. "Latrell what the fuck" she yells angrily at him. Latrell hangs up laughs then walks over to the ambulance. He asks the paramedic if he can the ride in the back the paramedic agrees, his mother runs over and pulls him back. "We'll go see them tomorrow" she says softly to her son. She takes her son into the house and closes the door.
