Forgiveness

"....eri, Wake up" Monspeet says, his hand resting on her shoulder, Derieri opens her eyes, Monspeet locks eyes with her, his eyes are soft and he's holding a bowl of soup. She sits up and he hands her the bowl,
"Here, eat"
"Thank you" Monspeet looks startled for a moment, Derieri looks at him "what?"
"I- I just can't remember if you've said thank you to anyone since your sister died"
"Oh" Derieri looks down, blushing, Monspeet sighs
"Your face is pink" he puts the back of his hand on her cheek "and warm" her stomach is in knots and her heart is beating fast why?
"How do you feel"
"Better" she puts a spoonful of soup in her mouth "this is really good" she looks over and smiles at him, a smile teases his lips but he stands up, and goes over to the pot of soup hanging over the fire
"I guess I should try some than" he comments spooning some into a bowl

"Monspeet"
"Hm?" He turns around to look at the girl who is staring into the bowl in her hands
"Do you think we can be forgiven?" He straightens "do you think we could have a second chance?" After a few seconds he stands setting the bowl down on the table to his left, he walks over and kneels down, setting his hand on her shoulder
"Are you done?" He points to the half empty bowl in her hand, she nods while he takes the bowl "get some sleep, we'll talk abound it in the morning" she gazes at him as he stands and walks over to the table, she feels her cheeks get hot and her heart beats quicker why the hell does this keep happening? She needs to figure it out.
