A/n: idk where sidney lives, I've never had a blizzard or snow in my entire life so most of this will probably be really inaccurate. Its just an excuse to write Sidney getting cuddled! Sorry this took so long btw!
Warning: Sidney gets a booboo 🤕. Also I don't know much about how to dress a wound !
Y/n wasn't used to the snow. Nor were they used to blizzards. Apparently neither was Sidney. The heater wasn't working too well. The tiny apartment Sidney called home wasn't exactly warm and toasty, but the inside the giant blanket fort Y/n and Sidney had spent nearly an hour making was pretty toasty. The opening was strategically placed in-front of the TV for obvious reasons, and the sides were lined with pillows that Y/n lounged on luxuriously. Y/n wore a bright yellow sweatshirt Sidney had bought for them awhile ago from a thrift store. His reasons for doing so were that the sweatshirt had a adorable little sun dude on it. Y/n still wore it since it was incredibly soft and warm. Y/n's legs were covered with a thick blanket.
Outside the saftey and warmth of the pillow fort was burrito Sidney who had thick blankets wrapped around him with his thin arms sticking out. Sidney was currently warming up some water in a kettle for the powdered soup.
Sidney had been trying to reach the cupboards for some bowls, only to send one falling onto the floor and breaking.
"Are you sure you don't need help?" Y/n asked, concerned.
"I'm perfectly fine! Its not that big of a mess I can clean it up!" Sidney dismissed y/n's concern.
Sidney picked up a big shard of the bowl. His hands shook furiously as the skin on his hands was exposed to the cold of the outside of his comfortable burrito blanket. Sidney tried to keep his grip, a fruitless offer as the piece dropped out of his hands.
Almost as if in slow motion, his reflexes kicked in and he tried to catch it, only to end up cutting himself slightly. The piece still dropped onto the floor and shattered into more pieces.
Y/n sighed and reluctantly left the fort behind to tend to their clumsy friend.
"What are you doing? I'm fine! Nothing is wrong!"Sidney shook anxiously as he held his injured hand. Luckily for the both of them, it wasn't that deep of a cut. It likely wouldn't be needing stitches. Y/n stared deadpanned at Sidney.
"Alright where do you typically keep your bandages?" Y/n asked. Sidney still held his injured hand, trying desperately to keep his calm and not cry like a big baby.
"Its in the drawer on the left over there~" Sidney answered, defeated. Y/n quickly investigated the drawer and grabbed bandages and rubbing alcohol. They also a paper towel to act as a makeshift wipe
"Alright give me your hand." Y/n asked. Sidney did so. Y/n held Sidney's injured palm in their own healthy and warm palm. The warmth of their hand seemed to calm Sidney a little.
"You're.. you're really un.. really warm!" Sidney admitted, he blushed a bit at the contact.
"Thanks? Hold still now, this is going to hurt." Y/n took the bottle of alcohol and poured some onto the paper towel.
"Wait what are you going to do? How much is this going to hurt? Is this going to take a long time?" Sidney began to panic a little. Y/n tightened their grip slightly to reassure Sidney. It didn't work.
"Its just rubbing alcohol to clean the wound with. It'll sting a bit. Now try to not panic okay?" Y/n delicately rubbed the wipe over the wound. Sidney instantly cringed and gritted his teeth in pain.
"OH IT HURTS IT HURT IT HURTS STOP STOP STOPSTOPSTOP! Pls!!!" Sidney begged, little tears formed in his eyes as Y/n laughed a little.
"Oh shush you big baby! Its not that bad!"
"YES IT IS IT Stings REALLY BADLy!" Sidney argued.
"You're such a little baby you know?" Y/n teased as they threw away the bloodstained alcohol wipe. Y/n grabbed a bunch of bandages.
"Can you get me the one with the rainbow pattern?" Sidney asked, still crying a bit. Y/n sorted through the bundle to find one big enough.
"Well that one isn't big enough, so you can take the yellow one."
Y/n gently applied the band aid.
"There you go~ lets hope this is good enough ! I don't know if I can take you to hospital in this weather!"
"Is that it? I thought you were going to stitch it up?" Sidney questioned.
"Well I doubt I'd be able to do something like that, not only because I don't have any medical training whatsoever, but also because you have a habit of squirming like a baby at even the slightest bit of pain~" y/n teased a bit. Y/n took a step backwards and stepped on a broken shard. Luckily they had worn a thick pair of socks. Y/n 's face filled with dread.
"Oh... right."
"I thought we forgot something!" Sidney commented.
"Yeah we should step out of the mess huh?" Y/n quickly inspected their foot for any injuries while they balanced themselves on one foot.
"Wait that's not a good idea you should hold onto something or else you'll fa-" Sidney spoke too soon, as Y/n quickly lost balance and fell onto their side. Luckily they didn't fall into the broken shards of the fallen bowl. Their sides did sting, but not as much as their pride did.
"FUCK!" Y/n swore. Sidney quickly but carefully made his way over to their side and away from the broken bits.
"Are you okay? Did you get hurt? Did you land on any of the shards by any chance?" Sidney panicked as he checked for any bruises.
"Well my pride is mortally wounded, I think I'm fine though." Y/n assured. Sidney sighed in relief. He was relieved in knowing that his clumsy friend hadn't gotten themselves injured this time.
"I don't know how you could've saw that not ending poorly, you have like the worst balance." Sidney teased.
"You literally dropped a bowl and made a mess! So I'm pretty sure it means that I'm not the clumsy one here!" Y/n teased back.
"Well I was cold, and my hands were shivering!" Sidney argued.
Y/n chuckled triumphantly.
"Well, I think we should get to cleaning it up. Unless you plan on using the broken shards to make a lovely DIY rug~"
"Oh shut up I'm not THAT poor!"
"But you are stupid enough to do something like that~" y/n teased, still lying on their side.
Sidney lightly smacked y/n's shoulder playfully.
"Oh shut up! You're the one who literally stepped on a shard of... whatever that bowl was made out of."
"It was made out of weak material that's for sure," y/n sat up," Besides, you needed more tending to than your dumb cutlery~" Sidney blushed a bit.
"It wasn't that serious!"
"Oh so now you admit it? Earlier you were whimpering and holding your hand like you had a finger cut off!" Y/n remarked.
Sidney looked over at the forgotten broken bowl.
"Oh right! We should probably get onto cleaning it up before some clumsy doofus slips on it again~"
"Yeah we wouldn't want any cold idiots cutting their hand on it now would we?~"
Sidney and y/n hudled together in the safety of the pillow fortress like they were 6 yr old troublemakers on the run from their angry mother. Y/n had made some coffee to warm Sidney and their cold souls as they watched the one of their favorite movies.
Sidney noticed y/n was shivering ever so slightly. At first he would've reached for another blanket, until he realized that we was currently all of the remaining blankets. Y/n had given him theirs earlier, leaving y/n's only protection from the cold to be their clothes.
"Um, sunshine?" Sidney asked. Y/n groaned and turned to look at him. Their face was ever so slightly flustered
"I thought I told you not to call me that! Anyways, what do you want?"
"Are you cold? You're kind of shivering a little bit." Sidney pointed out. Y/n was indeed cold.
"Actually... I'm fine! You need those blankets more than I do anyways."
"Y/n! I have like, 10 blankets wrapped around me! I'm warm enough! You can have at least one!" Sidney wiggled their arms out of the burrito and unwrapped a single blanket.
"Alright well if you insists~" y/n draped the cream colored blanket ontop of themself.
"Um, is that enough? You still look cold." Sidney asked, his face was a bit red. The warm lighting that shone through the blankets used to make the ceiling of the fortress illuminated Y/n's face in a warm yellow light. And their eyes practically beamed rays of warmth and joy. Sidney did call y/n sunshine for a reason after all. no matter what the circumstances where, y/n always seemed to have a warm inviting look in their eyes, and their smile shined brighter than any star in the night. Sidney couldn't help bit feel flustered with the way their eyes always seemed to look at him so cheerfully.
"I'm still a bit cold actually. Did the heater stop or something? It wasn't this cold before~" Y/n felt almost completely taken aback with the way that Sidney looked at them. Y/n wasn't used to people looking at them so lovingly. Much less Sidney.
"I think I might have an idea. Are you okay if I... if I maybe pull you closer to me?"
Y/n felt a spark of bravery.
"You know what, how about I just join you in your little blanket burrito~"
Sidney blushed at the idea of having y/n so close to them.
"Are you sure you're okay with that?? I could just share the blankets with you if you're not comfortable being that close to me." Sidney offered.
"Are you okay with it?" Y/n asked, their hands found the edge of the first layer as they slowly peeled away at the layers of blankets, just to open them up for a second.
"No! I mean, I don't mind!~" Sidney said awkwardly. Y/n finally pulled back the final layer and flopped onto Sidney, who laid in the center like a caterpillar in a cocoon. Their arms wrapped securely around him as they adjusted themselves to see the screen of the Tv better. The blankets were wrapped snuggly around the two.
Sidney's face looked sunburnt, he felt himself sweating nervously. There was almost no space between the two. And it was the greatest feeling in the world.
Being so close to someone who he loved was such a lovely feeling for him. Y/n felt comfortable and safe pressed gently next to him. Sidney wasn't sure what to do. Where to put his arms, what to do with his legs. He felt both wonderful and painfully awkward at the same time. He was desperate to not mess it up.
"Are you comfy?" Y/n asked. Sidney laid on the pillows underneath the blankets they were wrapped around, and y/n laid by his side, leaning into him. They both faced the Tv, but neither focused on it. Y/n's arm was wrapped around Sidney's neck loosely. Both of Sidney's arms were stiff by his side as he debated what to do with them.
"Yeah, I'm.. I'm comfortable, are you warm enough?" Sidney asked. Y/n smiled. Sidney felt all his worries melt away when he saw that y/n was lovingly smiling at him.
"Yeah, you're actually really warm." Y/n commented, they laid their head on Sidney's shoulder.
Sidney felt like he had died and gone to heaven. He had never felt so happy in his life. He wanted to hold y/n closer. He wanted to hold them like this forever and never let go. But he didn't want to ruin it.
"Is it... is it okay if I.. I wrap my arm around your waist? If not then its okay and-"
"Yeah I wouldn't mind." Y/n assured. Sidney felt his heart stop. He was cuddling with y/n, his sunshine, someone who he had a massive crush on! Sidney took a deep breath, and wrapped his arm around y/n's waist.
Y/n felt themselves melt into Sidney's touch like a kitten falling into a deep sleep.
"You know Sidney, this is nice. We should do this more often~" Y/n remarked. Y/n glanced at Sidney to find him redder than a strawberry.
"Rea-really? Sure! I'd love to do this more often!O-only if y-you're okay with that though!"
Y/n smiled.
"Yeah, I don't mind it~"
"Good. I-I'm glad~"
