Name pulled her bandanna off as she had finished her morning choresand now would be getting dressed, she choose a pair of bell bottomjeans and a very light weight (favorite light color) top that she hadknitted herself. She had cleaned up and was ready for a busy day.

She had already packed up her rucksack of the two books she hadchecked out and a lunch box for later. It was planned for her to havea full day. She would have breakfast with the entire community thango and do her work and then she would have her lunch and be back intime for dinner.

It was one of the tenets of Rosewood, there were only a handful ofthem and most were what she considered to be obvious, things likeharming none, compassion, honoring the nature that they all relied onand such but others like serving the community, and improvingthemselves either by knowledge or skills or body.

For some, like Daisy Last-Name, it was working at the soup kitchenand the homeless shelter, the twins both volunteered doing communityrehabilitation projects, their parents worked in a drugrehabilitation clinic, the Last-Name parents volunteered at an animalshelter as did Mary, and her parents volunteered at the hospital. ForName it was working in the community center, teaching her crafts toanyone who wanted to learn, it tended to be either school children orthe elderly but it was a mixture of different races, genders andslowly different ages as well. Then whatever she made when shefinished the class was donated.

This time it was Jason's turn to make breakfast, but tomorrow itwould be her turn. But she had a very full day first. "Morningsunshine," Jason smiled and Name couldn't help but giggle andgathered the plates and silverware to for their breakfast ofpancakes, Name knew that Jason loved pancakes since he loved thecreamy taste of the butter, it was one of Name's duties was to keepthe butter made up and so would need to know if she had to rememberto make more butter tomorrow during her morning duties.

"So today is the day, which is it today again?" Name's fatherasked.

"Knitting." She answered and smiled, she liked knitting and toher it was more a challenge, picking up crochet and spinningyarn-which she taught on Tuesdays and Fridays respectively-were mucheasier to pick up and more forgiving with mistakes so learning toknit was always a challenge until they learned the muscle memory toit. "I'm also going to stop by the library. Does anyone need me toreturn their books?" She offered and only Johnathan needed onereturned that he hadn't finished in time to return it.

Name headed to the library first, the majority of the way she walkedwith Jason and Johnathan who had their own reasons to be in town.More so Polluck farms where there was a certain farmer's daughter, and a hired hand, that each boy was interested in. They probablythought that they were being clever. She could only hope that in thisnew era of love would protect them from the hatred that was soomnipresent when their parents had grown up.

"Bye guys," she smiled waving to the men and giggled, "you havethat rose soap they like to get some of the meat?" She asked, itwas true that sometimes they would throw in a bar of soap for thembut not weekly. The two earned the meat by doing farming workthroughout the year, the Polluck family was close friends with theRosewood commune and were like an extension almost. Name'sresponsibility was to make the soap and the butter, and she knew thatthey were bringing tokens to them.

"Heck of a time to ask us Name, but yeah." She rolled her (eyecolor) eyes and just giggled and waved goodbye. She wanted to saysomething, a hint that she knew that they were not as good as theythought they were hiding it but decided not to. Not yet.
