"So, a Lucario, huh?" I asked, looking at Genevieve from across the table.
"Yes, and that's not all," Genevieve stated. I watched my 3DS screen as Lucario was encased in a pinkish aura, emerging as Mega Lucario.
"Mega Evolving? You still don't stand a chance," I grinned, looking at my shiny Rapidash.
"We'll see," Genevieve replied.
I started out with the obvious move: Bounce. Rapidash went first and bounced into the sky, avoiding Mega Lucario's Bone Rush. However, when Rapidash landed, Bone Rush had a super effective hit, and did a lot of damage.
The next turn, Mega Lucario used Aura Sphere. Because of Mega Lucario's ability, Adaptability, which raised the power of the move, it dealt a good deal of damage, but not as much as Bone Rush. I used Flare Blitz and knocked Mega Lucario with a super effective hit, but doing some damage to Rapidash in the process. By now, both Pokemon were in the red zone. Who ever hit next would be the winner.
I used Bounce again, and Rapidash jumped into the sky, avoiding a Power- Up Punch from Mega Lucario. Rapidash landed on Mega Lucario, and knocked him out.
The two games disconnected, and Genevieve shut her game and looked up.
"That was pretty good," she admitted.
"Thanks," I smiled, "No one gets in the way of me and my Rapidash."
"I'm sure you could beat almost anyone in the game with that Rapidash so long as they didn't have a ground, rock, or water type."
"Thanks! If the Pokemon world were real, I could probably beat everyone there, too!" I laughed.
"Maybe. It wouldn't surprise me," Genevieve agreed.
"Are you two done now?" Conner, who was sitting at the other end of the table, asked, "Because I called winner."
I grinned. "Are you up for a beat down?" I asked.
"I'm not sure it will be like that," Conner replied, opening his 3DS.
"Remember, a one- on- one Pokemon battle," I reminded him.
I glanced up, then whispered, "Hide! Teacher!" All three of us hid our 3DSs under our lunchboxes and pretended to be eating. When the teachers past, we pulled them out again.
"Connected?" I asked Conner. He nodded. I selected my Pokemon and watched as the prebattle scene played.
Conner had sent out a Krookodile, which didn't surprise me. I had fought with Rapidash, a fire type, last battle, and he had probably thought I would send her out again. However, I had a trick up my sleeve.
"Vaporeon?" he asked.
"Only the strongest Eeveelution, as far as I'm concerned," I replied.
"Well, that depends on-" Conner started.
"Focus on the game, please," I cut in.
Krookodile went first, using Sandstorm, and creating a sandstorm. Vaporeon used Aqua Ring, and restored her HP every time she took damage from being buffeted by the sandstorm.
Next, Krookodile used Outrage, damaging Vaporeon. I attempted to have Vaporeon use Hydro Pump, but the move missed. Vaporeon healed a little of her HP before some of it was taken way by Sandstorm.
Krookodile used Outrage again. This time Vaporeon used Surf, landing a super effective move. Krookodile was left with a little bit of HP in the red zone. Sandstorm took away a little bit of Vaporeon's HP after she healed.
