Dear Diary,

I was almost late for school today! School starts at 7.25, and it was 7.23 already. I wasn't used to the school being so far away from my house- a 20 minute bus ride distance. 3 months ago, I could wake up at 7 and slowly go to school as the school was just downstairs- a 2 minute walk there. But now? I have to wake up at 6.20-earlier by 40 minutes.

As I dashed into the hall, I realized that there is so many people, and I got really nervous. I was really scared I would make a mistake and become the "unpopular" one just like I was in Primary school.

I wasn't...how do you say, well known, unlike my classmates, and THEY were the teacher's favourite students. I tried to be better, by bringing my academics up, being the top of the class and making the teacher's life easier, but the teacher would never give me another look. Instead, the teachers would buy Macdolnalds, Bubble tea, and snacks for the popular girls and sneak it to them. I have to admit, I was kind of jealous, and I hated the popular girls. Just because they are pretty, they have really long hair, rich kids, and looks hella hot(sorry guys but I ain't lesbian but seriously if you saw them you would say the same thing) when they dance (they are in International Dance), it doesn't mean they can be the queen of the school.

I sat down, and looked anxiously at the people around me. No familiar faces. I was alone. With no old classmate around I can hang out with. But since I'm a social person, Im going to make new friends, right?

Suddenly, the principals voice broke my train of thoughts. "Welcome, new Fuhuanites!....( blah, blah, blah)"

When the principal finally finished her speech, we were gathered into classes by our seniors, and we played ice breaker games. For one, we played "BANG!", which is a person will be chosen to be the IT and then he or she will point at someone and that "someone" must squat and then the 2 person beside him or her who is still "alive" have to shoot each other with their hands. The last one "surviving" is the winner.

After a few rounds of different games, we gathered around and our seniors said that we have to perform after the day of our camp (in school) to our parents. We learnt different cheers  (which was...kind of weird, cuz Primary school don't have cheers) then out of a sudden I remember that I need to make new friends, so I said to the girl beside me (I was really hoping she's not one of those popular girls):

"This is kind of childish and weird..."

"Yes, very true."

"What's your name?"

"Alexis."

"Alexis?"

"Yea. What's yours?"

"Alyssa."

"Hi Alyssa."

"Hi. wanna be friends?"

"Sure, why not?"

And with that, we became friends. Since her name is Alexis, I made her into past tense, replacing the "is" part with "was". Then, she introduced me to some of my new classmates, who were "Alexwas' " old school mates.

When all the girls were gathered into the toilet to change into their PE uniform, one of my classmates, whose name is Xenia, took one look at the mirror and exclaimed:

"Oh my god! My baby hair is so ugly!"

I looked at her baby hair. They seem normal to me.

"They are popping out everywhere!"

MY THOUGHTS:
they are only popping out, chill girl, its not like they are gonna eat you or anything...

All the girls were trying to hold their laughter. "She's too dramatic..." they probably thought. Then, after she got over her "baby hair" matters, she started up another drama, pretending to argue with her best friend, Syazah, about who's right and who's wrong. They started to pretend their friendship is ending there, right on that spot, when they burst out laughing, holding their stomachs.

It was a fun way of starting Secondary school life I guess. But I have never given a thought about what is going to happen next.
