Iris' Life Before Hogwarts

About 4 months later
Lily and James left Remus and Sirius in charge of watching Iris. Remus and Sirius took this job very seriously. Sirius looked up from playing with Iris. " Look Moony, she's trying to eat the toy! Isn't she just the most adorable little baby you have ever seen?" Remus looked up from his book at his boyfriend and Pup. Remus said, "Yes, she is." As he picked her up from her spot on the floor next to Sirius and cradled her to his chest.

As Iris started to get older, a prophecy comes to light that a child that would bring the end to Lord Voldemort. The child would be born at the end of July to people who openly defied him. In fear for their child's life, Lily and James' took their daughter and went into hiding.

On October 31, 2002, the Potter were playing with toys in their living room. When James went to look out of the window. He see a figure standing in front of the house. James looks at his wife and daughter and tells " Lily take iris and run. I will hold him off as Lily runs up starts with her baby in her arms. She hear Screaming and a body hit the floor. When she makes it up the stairs, she shuts the nursery door putting Iris in her crib and tells her, " Momma loves you. Dada loves you. You are so loved, my sweet girl. So loved." The door to the nursery flow off it hinges to the floor. Lord Voldemort walked look at Lily in front of the crib holding his enemy. Voldemort said, " Get out of the way you stupid girl!" Lily stayed in front of her baby and cried saying, "NOT MY IRIS! TAKE ME INSTEAD! NOT MY BABY!" Feed up with Lily's scream, Voldemort killed her then he turned this wand to the screaming baby and said, " Avada Kedavra!" This time instead of killing the sweet baby that screamed in her crib for her mother that was on the floor died it bounced off her and back at the evil man that killed her mother and father.

Seven years later
Iris was left in the 'protection' of her aunt and uncle after that horrible night. After that night, little Iris was treated like a house elf instead of a little girl. She cooked and cleaned. On one occasion , as she was clean the kitchen her aunt came into the kitchen for a apple. When Iris pulled out the spelling test out of the back pocket of her baggie close that where hand me downs from her cousin Dudley. On the spelling test the was a large A+ circled. Iris hoped that showing her aunt would finally make her just as loved as Dudley was. When her aunt saw the test, she instantly got mad. She screamed, " You think you are so much better than my Dudleykins. Don't you, you freak?" Iris started to bawl, she looked at her aunt and in a heartbreaking sob said, " Why don't you love me like you do Dudley? I get good grades and do all of my chore. I don't ever complain." Her aunt in a fit of rage slapped the innocent little girl across her face. She grabbed the little girl by her hair and stared into her eyes so deeply that Iris swore that her aunt could see her soul. Her aunt said, "You will never be better than my Dudleykins. I don't love you. Nobody will ever love you. You are a freak just like your parents were." Her aunt then dragged her by her hair to the cupboard under the stair where she was left three days.

As the years when by Iris grew into a beautiful young lady with a big heart but with every slap and every mean word from her 'family', a little price of her heart broke but all of that was about to change. As her eleventh birthday got closer her aunt got meaner because strange thing started to occur. When Iris was in the garden pulling weeds, she stumbled upon a garden snake. Iris found the snake to be very beautiful, it was black with white stripes. Iris watch the snake for a while until the snake finally had enough of her watching it and said, " Do you have a ssstaring problem?"
Iris looked at the snake as if it had three head and decided that she was losing her mind but decided to answer the snake anyways. She said, "No, you are just very beautiful is all. What is you name?"
The snake looked up at the pretty little girl that wore clothes that were to big for her and decide that this little girl would be her hatchling so she told her, "my name isss Artemisss after the goddess of the hunt. What isss your name hatchling?"
Iris said, " My name is Iris but my aunt calls me freak."
Artemis could not believe that some one would should say such a thing to such a tiny little girl so she did anything that a good snake mother would do when someone hurt there hatchling. She liked at her hatchling and said, "Where isss your aunt ssso I can bit her."
Iris laughter filled the air as she scolded Artemis, she said, " Artemis you can't go around biting people!!"
