Chapter Seventeen: Flat-Lining

"Quick get them to the icu fast!"

"Apply pressure to her wounds."

"Move them into surgery!"

"Read their blood pressure."

"Don't let her lose conscious again!"

"Get their names, call family let's go people!"

"Get two bags of morphine."

"We need requests for two blood transfusions."

"What blood type are they?"

Her head ached. Her eyes slowly flickered opening slowly. She was fading in and out of conscious.

"I'm A."

She faintly whispered.

"She's saying something!"

The nurse shouted.

"I'm A, He's O."

She repeated just a softly. It hurt to talk. Her eyes closed again. The voices seemed so far.

"What's your name sweetheart?"

Yasmin barely opened her eyes.

"Yasmin DeMonte. My husband,"

She turned her head to see Christian covered in blood. She tried to scream but it was cut off by a wet sound and coughing.

"No, no, Yasmin. You can't do that You are hurt very badly. We are moving you to surgery and then to ICU. Can you tell me your husband's name?"

The nurse asked as they were rushed through large doors. Yasmin sniffled as tears cleared paths down her blood stained face.

"Christian.. De..Monte."

She said faintly before fading out of conscious again.

"We're losing her!"

It couldn't be over, not like this. They had to fight and fight hard. IV's were placed in their arms as nurses came in and prepared their bodies. Two surgeons bolted through the door and headed different ways. Oxygen tubes were slid down their throats to assist with the breathing.

"Her heart rate is slow we need to hurry."

The surgeon calmly said as a nurse pushed a table of tools towards him.

"Silence please."

The other surgeon said as he began his incision. Yasmin's surgeon stuck his scalpel in her shoulder causing her heart rate to increase tremendously. Almost too fast for a human.

BEEEEEEEEEEEP.

The loud echoed through the room.

"Bring her back! Now!"

Buzzing filled the air as the nurse applied the defibrillator to her chest.

"Clear!"

One shock.

"Clear!"

Two shocks.

"Clear!"

Three shocks.

"One more time don't give up. Amp up the watts."

Another nurse did as told.

Clear!"
