Reeve X Adam: Enemies turned lovers

2: Midnight Cuddles

As the day began to grow dark, the five teens decided to have a meal together. They all gathered at the table and dove into the food. Everyone was having a good time, laughing, playing. Except Reeve was having trouble keeping his gaze off of Adam.

Vanessa noticed this and asked, "Hey Reeve, are you okay? You keep staring at Adam." 

Reeve immediately looked at her and gave a slight chuckle, accompanied by some blush. "Y-yeah, I'm okay, just spacing out." Ugh, why do I keep staring at him like a weirdo?...Do I like him that much? Reeve mentally face-palmed himself. Vanessa raised an eyebrow at him. Reeve felt that she didn't believe him, but soon after she just resumed her eating. Adam gave him a smile from across the table. Reeve saw this and returned it. After the teens were done eating most decided to head home. They had gotten up and packed their stuff to leave, well except for Reeve and Adam.

As Mira finished packing her bag she turned to them and asked, "Reeve, aren't you coming?"

Reeve shook his head, "Nah, I think I'll sleepover tonight". Adam smiled as he said this. Mira nodded and took her exit. Then there were two.

Adam got up from his chair and crossed his arms, "Well...should we head to bed then?", he asked. Reeve nodded and got up as well, he followed Adam as he led him up the stairs. As both were walking Reeve felt Adam gently grab his hand. Reeve's cheeks tinted red as he saw Adam giving him a little smirk. Man he drives me crazy...if only he knew. Even this hand hold is setting me off right now. Reeve smiled back sheepishly. Adam led Reeve to the door of his own bedroom as Adam then headed over to his. Adam closed his door which left Reeve standing alone in the hallway. Reeve glanced at Adam's door and pondered whether to just head inside and sleep with Adam tonight. He reached his hand to the door, about to knock, but a mix of pride and embarrassment overcame him, causing him to chicken out and head to his own. He laid on his bed with a sigh. Why am I so afraid to just admit my feelings! Reeve buried his face in a pillow with a grunt. I'm so weak... He then tried to forget about it and drift off to sleep.

Around midnight Reeve started to have a nightmare. He imagined himself and Adam running from some type of monster from the Hollow. Reeve was ahead of Adam, and tried to reach back and help him catch up, but Adam was too far behind. The monster swung it's large claw onto the ground, squashing  and killing Adam as he let out a loud, heart-wrenching scream-Reeve bolted awake with a yelp, drenched in sweat. His eyes darted around the dark room in a panic. I'm not in the Hollow, I'm not in the Hollow...Adam's safe...he's safe. He managed to calm himself down before tears surfaced in his eyes. Suddenly the door to Reeve's room opened. In the doorway stood a worried Adam, illuminated by the hall light behind him.

"Reeve, are you alright? I heard screaming", said Adam.

Reeve gave a slow nod, "Y-yeah, I'm fine. It's just my daily dose of nightmares I guess..." Adam walked over and sat next to Reeve on the bed, a comforting smile spread across his face. 

"If you want, I could sleep here with you...if that will make you feel any better." 

Reeve felt his face turn red. Panic surged through him as he fumbled over his words, "W-well...I-I". Why can't I say it!? God, I'm so pathetic! 

Adam laughed at Reeve's blushing mess, he placed his hand onto Reeve's and smiled. "I'll take that as a yes." The two then settled into bed. Adam wrapped his arms protectively around Reeve. Reeve out of instinct nuzzled his face into Adam's warm chest. Adam smiled and kissed Reeve's forehead, "You know, I've missed this". He began to rub circles onto Reeve's back, "Ever since we broke up it's been...lonely without you."

Reeve smiled shyly, "Yeah. I missed the fun times we had back then...", his smile then started to fade, "...but then came the Hollow."

"The Hollow may have torn us apart-", Adam said as he lifted Reeve's chin up to his, "-but it also brought us back together again. Without it, I would have never met someone as cute as you." Reeve blushed at this and let out a slight laugh. He stared into Adam's dark brooding eyes, his thoughts colliding with one another. I can't hold back anymore, I've been holding back long enough.

Reeve placed his hands on Adam's cheeks, his tough demeanor slipping away through his fingers, "And I wouldn't have met someone as awesome as you, Adam." Reeve quickly closed the distance and pressed his lips against Adam's. Adam closed his eyes and gave in. Adam moved his hands down Reeve's back as Reeve wrapped his arms around Adam's neck. Both kissed one another with longing passion, unable to break away for even a second. Eventually Reeve was the one to pull away, breathless and panting, his eyes glued to Adam's. Both boys once again stared at each other, both trying to process what just happened. Adam then hugged Reeve and whispered in his ear:

"I love you."

Reeve hugged back and whispered, "I love you too."
