Celaena's earphones blared Killer Queen by 5 Seconds of Summer as The Guild's 6 person Cessna landed on the lone strip of asphalt that was a sorry excuse for an airport. But this was the closest airport to the camp Arobynn had gotten her a job at, and landing here instead of one of the commercial airports definitely made getting off the plane and on the road much faster.

"Bye boys." She plastered on her signature wicked grin as she looked over her shoulder at the pilot and Wesley, who was both the co-pilot and Arobynn's personal bodyguard.

"Don't do anything stupid, Celaena."

She looked up at Wesley between her lashes. "I would never."

As always, his face showed little to no emotion. Oh well. They had never liked each other anyway.

With a sigh she lugged her suitcase out of the plane and headed towards the black car Arobynn had paid to pick her up.

"Morning Miss." She didn't refuse as the driver reached for her luggage to put away in the trunk.

"Good morning." Stupidly she hadn't done much research on the place where she would be staying. She might as well get as much information as she could during the drive over. "So are you from around here?"

"Born and raised."

"What's this area best known for?"

"Well obviously there is Oakwald. That's the biggest attraction here. The camp you're headed to is pretty prominent. Folks from all over the state and occasionally groups from out of state stay there for summer camps, retreats, or whatever. Plus the owner and her boys keep the forest maintained and safe for visitors. Oakwald has some of the best visitor reviews, largely  thanks to Maeve and her guys."

"What's she like? Maeve I mean."

The driver's face became slightly strained. "Maeve... she is- despite her impressive achievements, she is er... suspicious?"

"Oh?"

"She is not necessarily someone who people want to mess with. If you know what I mean."

"Hmmmm." Point taken. It'll be interesting to meet this Maeve. "What about the guys you mentioned?"

"I don't know too much about them. I guess you'll just have to wait till you meet them," he chuckled.

"I guess so." Celaena wondered if the guys would be any different than Maeve. She was pulled from her thoughts by the sound of gravel crunching. The camp looked like it came straight out of a Camp Rock movie, with it's large, arcing 'Camp Doranelle' sign above the entrance, the white gazebo, and the worn, but maintained cabins.

"Welcome to Camp Doranelle." The driver got out and opened her door.

"Thank you." Celaena wasn't the friendly type, but she couldn't help but smile at her driver. Maybe if she smiled more often, it would help her be happier. Fake it till you make it, right? "I got it," she told the driver when he tried to get her bag.

He just nodded before giving her a slight smile and driving off.

She looked around unsure of where, exactly, she was supposed to go. Thankfully, a few of the buildings were labeled. She noticed the 'OFFICE' sign posted on the stone building that slightly resembled a castle.

Aelin pushed open the door and was met by a stunning, dark haired woman. The woman was intimidating in her perfection and practically radiating grace. Aelin had seen plenty of beautiful people and plenty of people with power, but this woman- she was something entirely different.

"I'm looking for Maeve. I am supposed to be starting a job here." Aelin wished her voice didn't sound so strained.

"Well it looks like you've found her. What is your name, child?"

"Dianna." That's the name Arobynn decided she would use as an alias. She was grateful for the chance to be a normal person for once in her life.

"Well, Diana dinner is at 6. Until then you can get yourself settled. You'll be stay-" Celaena felt as if a solid wall had slammed into her back. If it weren't for her years of training, she would have been sprawled on the floor.

"My apologies, ma'am." She was about to make a sarcastic remark to whoever just ran into her, when she turned to look at him. He wasn't looking at her. He was looking at Maeve, apologizing to her. She flashed him a glare.

"Ah, Rowan Whitethorn. Just in time. Show Dianna where she will be staying."

He opened his mouth as if he was going to object, but a stern glare from Maeve had him closing it again.

"Let's go." His voice was deep and bored. He hardly bothered a glance at Celaena, as he turned to leave the office.

Had her new boss not been standing in front of her, she would have given an obnoxious reply. Instead she grabbed her luggage and nodded to Maeve before following the arrogant, rude, brooding man.

He had no intentions of waiting for her and was already a ways ahead of her. She had to quicken her pace to catch up. What was this guy's problem?

"I've known many brooding men, but I think you are the broodiest of them all."

He finally looked at her. He would have been handsome if he didn't look like he was about to kill her. He was tall, broad, and every inch of him seemed laced with muscle. His hair gleamed silver. His pine-green eyes promised violence. The strangest thing about him was the dark black tattoo flowing down the left side of his chiseled face and down his tanned arm.

"So no friendly introductions? You're not even going to so much as mutter a hello?"

He stared at her for a while. Long enough that she was sure he wouldn't answer. Then he abruptly turned around and began his brisk stride again. "No."

The rest of the trek to the cabin Celaena would be staying in was filled with silence. Celaena honestly didn't mind that much, especially if this Rowan Whitethorn was going to be so rude.

He nodded his head to a wooden cabin nestled into the hillside. "You'll be staying there with the rest of the forest crew."

She was more than happy to strut into the cabin if it meant she could finally get away from the arrogant man.
