chapter 5- memories

(Beth's POV )

We ran, we ran as fast as we could, hands still together. I was still laughing, i couldn't stop myself. We kept running and running and I was smiling. I was ahead of him pulling him along. Out of the corner of my eye I could see him smiling. I had never really seen Daryl smile before. It made me so happy and fuzzy inside.

After a while if running we came upon a road. I recognized this road, I had seen it before. "OH" I yelled. Daryl looked at me "Are you ok?!" I smiled at him and said "Im fine Im fine. I just have a surprise for you. But you have to follow me" He looked up at me, still out of breath. "Ok im gonna trust you on this, were ever we are going it better be safe and have showers because you stink" He said as he smiled and punched my shoulder. "Your one to talk" I said smiling at him. He caught me off guard and pulled me into him.

He warped his arms around me and kissed me forehead. I hugged him back tight as he kissed my forehead again. I snuggled into his chest and he hugged me tighter. I leaned back "Come on I have to show you your surprise"! I grabbed his hand and started to walk but he pulled me right back into a hug. "No, not yet" he said. I let out a small giggle and hugged him right back.

We stayed like that for a couple minutes when he pulled away. He took my hand and said "so where are you takin me"? "It wouldn't be a surprise if I told ya"i said. We started to walk side bye side. I was happy , I don't think I had ever been this happy before. Daryl was confusing, but something told me he was at least interested in me. I saw him staring at me in bed and when the house started to burn. Right before the walkers came he was leaning into me with is eyes closed, his hand on my neck, like he was about to kiss me. NO! "No he wasent he doesn't like you Beth" the little voice in my head kept telling me. I pushed it back and just enjoyed the last moments with daryl.

We had probably walked 10 miles when we got their. I was leading the way their with daryl a little ways behind me. I had drove down this road so many times, I could never forget it. When I came upon it motioned my hand to daryl to hurry up. He caught up to me and said "What is this"? "This is my old high school".

I started to walk to the stadium on the side of the school. I just remember hanging out in the parking lot tail gating before the game started.

I walked up to the stadium, and just looked around. I was on the small track that outlined the football field.

•FLASH BACK•

"COME ON BETH HURRY IT UP"
"IM GOING AS FAST AS I CAN" I yelled at Kassy.
We were outside for gym running our 5 laps around the track. I finally caught up to Kassy and Violet. "Y...Y didn't u guys wait for me" I said out of breath. "Because we didn't feel like it" Kassy said laughing.

We walked back into the girls locker room, took of our sweaty clothes and started the showers. "So Kassy what is goin in with you and Derik"? "BETH SHUT UP" She was in the shower next to mine. Kassy came and punched my arm. "BETH you can't say it out loud you know what we did last Saturday"!
"Yeaaa" i said with a devilish look.

We were walking down the hall way to 6th period with Violet and Kassy. "So when are you and Jimmy... gonna... you know" Violet said.
"VIOLET! You know what would happen if I did that . NO SEX TILL MARRIAGE!" I remember thinking about Jimmy. I went to his houses about one Saturday to watch a movie. I had to go to the bathroom, Jimmy came in and it started kissing but he started to take my clothes off. I told him to stop it but he didn't, I pushed him off and started to walk out. He grabbed me, took me to his bedroom and locked the door. I started to scream, he punched me untill i shut up. After it was all over i had a huge gash on my back,it is a huge scar on my back. I never told anyone about it. I ran away from home and after that I started cutting. I was destroyed, but about a month later the outbreak started. When Jimmy came to live with us I lost it. I wanted to die.
