A God and a Devil

This morning started with a bang.

Literally.

"Huh? What is this?"

I examined a large package, I couldn't see what's inside.

"Oh? I don't think she's awake yet."

"Okay, down the hall."

Rosa?

My door opened. It was Leo!

"What's going on?"
I asked, everything happened so fast, I don't even know what that package is.

With an angry sigh, Leo explained to me...

Zapp, you're such a dumbass!!

Apparently, Zapp and Zed are on a mission and had to deliver Leo a package, but Zapp got confused and threw the package into my opened window, instead of Leo's window.

He then called Leo to warn him about the package, and Leo was utterly confused, what package was he talking about?

Soon, Leo realized that Zapp made a mistake, and ran down to my apartment.

"You have to bring this to Klaus and Steven."
He said, but as I stood up with the package, he sat me back down.

"What's the matter?"

"They're not in the office."

"So where are they?"

"Good question..."

God damn it, Leo!

I sighed in defeat.
"I'll look for them, I guess..."

He wished me good luck, and warned me:

"Also, that thing's really dangerous, so you'll be hunted down."

AGAIN?!?!

For sacred fuck's sake...

I barely took a step out of the building, when a finger was pointed towards me and a group began running after me.

Jeez...
Since I have no choice, I just ran, ran for my life, ran for sweet God...

I took so many turns, just to escape whoever's chasing me now, but for no good, they're still after me.

They're not too close, I guess, so I don't have to use my eyes.

Suddenly, they sped up.

Speak of the devil...

I turned my head around, still running as fast as my legs would allow me.
I quickly blinded them and began running faster.

I guess blinding did no harm, they were still able to chase me with their vision down.

"So this is why James didn't want me to come here..."
I sighed. By now, I couldn't even remember how to stop running.

It wouldn't be a lie to say that I looked everywhere for Steven and Klaus, but it couldn't even find a trace of where they might be. I was a street away from being discouraged when I got a call from Steven.

"Yes?"

"The most dangerous part of the city"

Click.

The most dangerous part of the city? Wait, does he mean the Alterworld?!

Despite how scared I was, I ran there. I had to do something, so I'll do it until the end.

At the very entrance to the Alterworld, there stood the two, waiting. They looked a bit stressed, maybe impatient?

I ran up to them and quickly handed them the mysterious package.

"Good job, kid."
Steven smirked, but then noticed a few people spying on our conversation.

He quickly got defensive, ready to fight. I sighed as if understood what it meant.

"Should I run?"
I asked, I think my voice expressed that this was anything but surprising.

"Probably."
Steven said, before he could blink I was right back to escaping, possibly he and Mr. Klaus could buy me some time.

I entered the part of the city I've never been to, it was a bit darker, but still just as dangerous. Maybe even more dangerous with those peeps trying to get on my back.

I ran into an alleys, it didn't seem sketchy at all, so I thought it might be a good place to run off to, as those chasing peeps began to get closer, despite Steven's attack.

Running as fast as I can, I noticed Chain slide down to the ground at the other end.

I was near, so I just sprinted towards her.

"Keep running, get the lighter to Zapp."
She told me, calm was her voice as usual.

I couldn't stop running, it felt a little weird.

Wait, lighter?! Zapp, you're the twice the dumbass I thought you were!!

As far as I could take it, I ran, and God would know, I didn't have much energy left, but I couldn't stop.
Not because I forgot how to not run from all of this, but I knew that if I stop right here, Zapp is the one who would be in trouble.

Finally, I arrived at where Zapp and Zed were fighting, seems to me they were doing just fine, using their Big Dipper Style blood Techniques, but this haze of safety quickly cleared itself once I noticed blood flowing down Zapp's shirt.

It wasn't the opponent's blood.

It was Zapp's blood.

Without a second thought, I ran up to him and quickly handed him his lighter.

"Thanks, kid."
He said, as fast as he could muster.

He used his Seventh Hell to burn down the remaining amount of enemies still alive, and finally fell onto my shoulder, exhausted and injured.

It was somewhat of a funny sight, since he's so much taller than me.

Zed sighed, then walked up to the two of us.

"Let me help you with him."
He said, I smiled at this.

"No need."

He was a little confused, sure, but so were me and Zapp, I guess...

The three of us walked back, or I guess, Zed walked as I did my best to not run, yet I was still quite fast.

"Could you slow down? I can't keep up."
Zapp asked, he sounded so tired.

"I've forgotten how to."
I confessed, to which Zapp laughed to.

I started calming down and finally walking normally.

Truth be told, today really was Lizzie's Zappiest Day.
