"I was kinda shy
But she was a daredevil"

1/1 1:04am 1994

Y/n stood on the edge of the quarry, dancing with a cigarette in her hand. It had just turned 1994 and we (the losers) were all celebrating at the quarry. I watched her as she stripped from her clothes, my face burning up. She jumped into the cold water, screaming in joy. I smiled, watching everyone else get undressed as well.

"And she liked to smoke
But she didn't like to drink
'Cause she know that
Her parents will yell at her"

3/23 3:45am 1994

She knocked on my window, the cool night air, swirling around her ankles.

"Y/n? What are you doing here? It's like 3am?" I croaked, grabbing her hand and helping her inside of my room.

"My dad," she began, sinking in my bed "he found a bottle of whiskey under my bed, and he hit me"

My heart shattered and I fell to my knees in front of her, noticing the bright purple, swelling bruise beneath her eye.

"Y/n..." I whispered, watching her tears coat her cheeks. She pulled me into a hug and I hugged her back, letting her cry into my shoulder. She soon fell asleep next to me, her arms still wrapped around me.

"Then she said-"

6/3 9:24pm 1994

"Hey Eddie?"
She spoke, taking the cigarette out of her mouth and looking at me, watching the stars on the roof.

"Yeah, what's up?"
I asked, the music from the party below us blaring to the point where I could feel the vibrations of the bass.

"You know, I really like hanging out with you"
She smiled, and tears slowly came out of her e/c eyes

"Awe, I really like hanging out with you too"
I smiled back, glancing at her momentarily, the turning back to the sky.

"I think I really want to kiss you"
She breathed, putting her cancer stick out.

"Wait... really?"
I turned to her, a look of confusion and bewilderment in my eyes

"Yeah but I don't want to scare you"
She mumbled loud enough for me to hear, wiping away her tears.

"Aw no, it's cool"
I shook it off. She's just drunk. I thought.

She doesn't drink

"Next thing I know Sarah took me to the bathroom"
6/3 9:30pm 1994

I pushed her into the bathroom, our lips never parting.

"I said "Are you sure? This is kinda crazy"
She says, "I just really wanna go!
I don't wanna take it slow"

She smiled at me reassuringly and I leaned in again, taking her shirt off slowly. That night was everything I could've ever asked for. She was everything I could've ever asked for.
