Chapter 10: Everyday Is A New Life

"Your new life starts today. Don't waste it trying to get back what was taken," ~ ?

Kiara wakes up to see Aaron sitting next to her. He smiles at her, relieved she is awake.

"Where are we?" She asks, taking in the gray room around her.

"We are in other infirmary," Aaron answers, "you accidentally took a swim when your ring was off and you almost died. I, uh, I saved you though," Kiara smiles at him.

"Thank you," she sits up and gets a small headache, which disappears quickly. She stands and stumbles a bit but regains her balance, "how long was I out?" She asks.

"Oh about five days," Aaron asks pain a casual tone.

"Really?" She asks softly.

"Really," he says with a nod. Kiara then walks out of the room and into a hallway. They are in the ship. Mikayla killed Kani. They are safe. They are off of that island. She goes up onto deck and looks around. They are indeed driving the ship to who knows where. Her eyes land on some land a ways off and she smiles. She was coming home.

"Hey! You're awake!" A new voice says and she turns around. Brandi walks up to her and hugs her tightly, "I was starting to wonder if you would ever wake up," Kiara smiles and looks around.

"We are going home?" She asks her friend and her friend nods and smiles widely.

"Yes, crazy, isn't it?" Brandi says, "I mean after all the years we have been on that retched island, we finally get to see our families again. And go to school! And meet new friends! Not like you aren't the best friend ever, you still hold that title, but, it will be nice to meet other people," Kiara nods and couldn't agree more. The two friends stand their, watching their home get closer and closer.
