this story starts off kinda slow but i promise it gets better!!

"hey." baylen smiled, sitting down at the little coffee shop table.

"baylen! it's good to see you. i have an audition for you to check out. i think you'll really like the role." her agent, veronica, told her.

"is it a tv show?" baylen asked, taking a sip of her coffee, listening intently.

"yeah, it's called outer banks." she said, sliding the small information paper over to baylen. "they requested an audition from you. you'd have to fly to charleston tonight."

baylen read the short description of the show, her character name and what the character is supposed to be like.

"it's a netflix original?" baylen asked her, reading the title again and taking a sip of her coffee.

"yes. they specifically asked for an audition from you after your little role in stranger things." she told her.

"this sounds like a fun project. i'm down." baylen said with a smile.

"yes! i was hoping you'd say that." she smiled. "i'll go book your flight!"

baylen had flown to charleston the previous night, and was now waiting in the production office for her first audition for the show.

"baylen hudson?" a man asked her.

"yes, hi. nice to meet you." she smiled, shaking his hand.

"i'm jonas pate. i'm the creator and executive producer of the show." he told her.

"oh, hi! i absolutely love what i've read of the script." she told him honestly, a big smile etched on her face.

"thank you." he smiled. "baylen, you're exactly what i had in mind for sarah cameron when i was writing this. i don't want netflix to say no, so we're going to do this all different types of ways, so they can't say no." he told the 21 year old girl as she stood there in a slight shock.

"oh... okay. this is really happening." she laughed.

baylen had spent the rest of her day in the casting office, doing countless auditions for different people. she had bonded with jonas, and his daughter lilah a lot throughout the day.

early the next morning, she flew back home to los angeles. she saw no reason to stay in south carolina when there was a massive chance she wouldn't get the part.

"hello?" baylen said into the phone. who would be calling her at 6am.

"baylen, where are you?" jonas asked her. "we need you here." he told her.

after talking to jonas for a few minutes, baylen immediately started packing all of her stuff to fly back to south carolina.

and the deal was signed. baylen got the role as sarah cameron.

it felt surreal to her. she hadn't been in the whole acting gig for all that long... maybe only a year or so, but she was waiting for the day she'd finally get a solid role. outer banks was that opportunity for her.
