||Liliana Magnusson||"We need to talk," said Eugene, who was now sitting in front of her with freshly printed white papers.
Ever since the day she twisted her ankle he has been giving her cold shoulders. He barely talks to her and avoids making eye contact with her.
"Go on I'm listening." She set down her finale sketch for the engagement ring that she now finally has finalized.
"I want us to sign a marriage agreement." He said in a low monotone voice, staring at her for a response.
She had the feeling that this marriage plan of his was not any normal marriage agreement but twisted with a plot twist. What was the sudden change in wanting this marriage agreement? Out of nowhere? She grabbed the papers from him and read the only thing that was typed in bold black letters.
TWO YEAR MARRIAGE AGREEMENT
"As soon as we make both of our families believe that we are happily married together for a year, we'll then get a divorce as soon as possible after our second year together." His arm crossed together against his chest.
Was she really going to marry him? Her father hasn't been contacting her ever since she moved into his villa. But a Two Year Marriage Agreement? Was not something that she would ever imagine facing. She made a vow to herself that when she officially decides to settle down, she would only marry once in her lifetime. But, then again, if Natalia doesn't get located she'll have no choice but to obey her father's orders. But, her father did mention that if Natalia wasn't found within the next few weeks, she'll eventually have to marry him no matter what, to seal the deal, and because it could potentially ruin her reputation. Imagine what the tabloids would say once they found out that she had married one of the most handsome billionaires in Athens Greece. Could she ever have imagined herself walking down the aisle to this cold-blooded devil with green glowy eyes? Was their marriage really only going to last for two years?
"No." It was her final response as she stood up from her chair and started packing up her sketches into her bag. If he thinks that she was going to agree to this ridiculous plan of his then he was out of his mind. A two-year marriage agreement was not something she wants to ever agree with to a complete stranger who might be her husband in a few months. Just thinking about it gave her an odd jittering feeling inside the pit of her stomach.
"What do you mean no? We clearly can't live together for the rest of our lives. We don't even love each other." He stood up in a furious attitude, clearly not satisfied by her response. Was he really thinking that smacking a two-year marriage agreement in her face would make her realize that they clearly hate each other's guts? Seriously, she was getting a bit irritated at this icky situation. She stuffed her last sketchbook in her bag.
"Look, Mr.Roussos, marriage is not something you can play around with like a piece of toy. If I'm going to marry someone even if it was filled with no love, I will not agree to a ridiculous plan just because you want to satisfy our parents with this ridiculous method of yours." Marriage is not something that she likes to play around with which clearly she can see that he thinks otherwise.
"Fine. Let's see who can last the longest in this loveless marriage, since you clearly love the idea of becoming my wife." He snarled in annoyance. His eyes burn like green flames as he stared deep into her dark brown eyes. She saw a glint of pain within the depth of his eyes. Seriously what is going on with him she thought while standing face to face with him. The gentleman who helped her that night was a kind-hearted person who showed warmth and was worried about her overall well being. But now, she was faced with a completely different person. The bags under his eyes showed lack of exhaustion, his hair was in a big mess, and he looked like he'd been locking himself up inside his office. Was he in pain? She thought while studying his nicely proportioned face. No wonder so many women would throw themselves at him. He was one handsome cold-blooded devil.
