Patching up JD -
Veronica was waiting in her room for J.D. to come over. She was doodling on the margins of her diary when she heard a soft knock on her bedroom window. She lifted the window open, allowing the trench coat clad teen to crawl in. The first thing she noticed when she saw him was that he had a black eye and a busted lip.
"J.D.!! What the hell happened to you?!" she exclaimed, instantly cupping his face softly and scanning for any other injuries.
"It was nothing, darling," J.D. replied casually, not looking her in the eye.
"It doesn't look like nothing..." Veronica countered. She'd known J.D. to get into fights before- heck, that was what attracted her to him at first- but she thought he was over that now that he'd befriended Kurt and Ram.
"I'm telling you, dear. It was nothing," J.D. insisted, although it was still obvious he was lying.
"Tell me or I get the Heathers to find out," she finally threatened. He sighed, knowing she had won. She grabbed the first aid kit she kept in her bathroom, then returned to listen to his story.
"I was in Science and those two airheads that sit in front of me were talking about what girls they'd like to- well, you know," he began, cringing at the memory. Veronica winced as well, knowing that Kurt and Ram used to be the same way before they started dating each other.
"I tried to ignore 'em, really! But they mentioned you. And then they went into detail about what they'd like to do to you and I lost it. As soon as class was over, I confronted them and they didn't like that too much, as you can see," he chuckled, wincing a bit as she tended to a cut on his cheek.
"Thank you, but you know how I feel when you get hurt because of me," Veronica reminded him.
"If you think I'm in rough shape, you should see them! I had them running, darling!" J.D. laughed. Veronica rolled her eyes, finishing her first aid. She turned to clean up, but J.D. grabbed both her hands in his and looked her in the eyes.
"You know I'm fine, right?" he asked quietly. "I'd do anything for you."
"I know," she nodded. "I'd do anything for you too." He grinned and gave her a quick peck on the cheek before she got back to cleaning.

Patching up Veronica-
Veronica was climbing into J.D.'s window to visit. It was the middle of the night and the chill in the air only further motivated her to get inside where it was warm. She'd stupidly forgotten to grab a pair of gloves, and later regretted it when she reached for a grip and her hand slipped. She fell to the ground with a 'thud' and felt her head start pounding.
"Aw crap," she muttered bitterly. She almost contemplated laying there for the rest of her life when she saw J.D. sleepily lean out the window.
"Veronica? What're you doing on the ground?" he asked, his words slurring a bit in his drowsy state.
"Oh I thought I'd just do some stargazing- what does it look like?? I fell trying to get to the window," she snapped. She felt a bit bad about it, but her whole body ached.
"Sorry I snapped..." she sighed. "I just feel really sore right now." However, she looked up to see that J.D. was gone. She was starting to sit up when J.D. came sprinting towards her in his pajamas and slippers.
"Veronica, what the hell?? Why didn't you call me before coming over or something??" he fussed quietly, picking her up. She winced a bit at the sudden movement, but quickly relaxed. He brought her upstairs and set her on his bed while he looked for bandages and such.
"You can relax a bit," she chuckled softly. "Nothing's broken or sprained. Just bruised."
"Relax??" J.D. scoffed. "My girlfriend fell climbing to my second story window- I can't just relax!!" He began to rummage through the medicine cabinet, handing her some Tylenol and a cup of water. She took it graciously and he began searching for wounds. She had a few scratches here and there, but nothing major.
"Why were you heading over anyway?" he asked, suddenly realizing that he didn't know why this had all happened.
"I was lonely. My thoughts were getting to me and everything. Figured you'd help make it go away," she practically whispered, avoiding his gaze.
"Darling... you know you can come over whenever you need to," he reminded her. "But I'd be ever-so-thankful if you could refrain from falling from the window while doing so." She pressed a quick kiss to his cheek.
"I'll do my darndest. Thanks, babe," she smiled. He grinned in return before pulling her down with him onto the bed and falling asleep.
