Sonakshi woke up to the rays of sunshine pouring their light onto her face. She squeezed her eyes and covered them up with her right hand. She decided to sit up as she felt a heavy weight on her waist and immediately opened her eyes to see Rohit's face extremely close to hers.
Sonakshi was sleeping on her back, with Rohit's right hand on her waist, her left fingers intertwined with his right ones and his left hand supporting his head. His lips were dangerously close to her nape as his hot breaths hit her cheek in intervals. Sonakshi smiled, looking at the position that they were sleeping in. It was a long time since they had even cuddled with each other over such a long period.
Sonakshi felt happy seeing Rohit go back to normal but she wasn't sure if it would still be the same once he woke up. All she wanted was to capture that moment away and never let the time slip further. Sonakshi placed a hand on his cheek and called out to him softly, in an attempt to wake him up. He stirred in his sleep and tightened his grip around her waist.
Sonakshi had no heart to wake him up now, as he snuggled in closer to her, his lips finally placing themselves on her nape but she had to get ready for her shoot in the next hour. She tried lifting Rohit's arm up from her waist, trying not to wake him up, but just as she lifted it enough to sneak out, Rohit flickered his eyes open, with a yawn.
"Sona... Cuddle karke sona hai... Please mat jao na" Rohit mumbled in his half sleepy tone, with a cute pout. Sonakshi resisted herself to pull his cheeks.
"Rohit shoot hai na... I have to go" Sonakshi answered back as she got up from her place, parting their hands. As their hands left the others, Rohit immediately sat up, a red tinge on his face, ruffling his hair. Sonakshi looked at him and sat down next to him.
"Rohit dekho, abhi toh humne friends banne ka decide kiya hai na?" Rohit nodded at her.
"I know ki tumhare liye yeh sab difficult hoga, trust me, I understand... You don't need to feel embarrassed kyuki yehi choti choti baato se hi toh hum apna rishta firse sudhar payenge, right?" Sonakshi smiled at him and pinched his cheeks.
"Haan..." Rohit answered as he caressed his cheeks.
"Tum doctor surgeon itne cute lagte ho sote hue" Sonakshi tried clearing the invisible tension between them. She pinched his cheeks again.
"Oww... Tum toh bilkul bhootni lagti ho" Rohit said as he caressed his cheeks again.
"Toh is bhootni ko pakad ke kyu soye the aap?" Sonakshi placed both her hands on her waist, standing up on her knees.
"Kahi kisiko uthke dara na de isliye... You have to be careful you know" Rohit giggled as he received hits on his shoulders by Sonakshi.
"Kyara bilkul tumhare upar gayi hai... Typical drama queen" Rohit said in between his laughs and Sonakshi's hands.
"Nahi woh tumhare upar gayi hai... Kitne nakhre hai uske aur kitni demanding ho gayi hai... Uski baat nahi suni toh rone lag jati hai" Sonakshi complained.
"Toh iska matlab tumpe gayi hai" Rohit left her hands as she sat down on the bed.
"Nahi tumpe" Sonakshi retorted and immediately rushed to the washroom to get ready.
Rohit looked back at her retreating figure and smiled to himself. Them going back to where they started was surely helping them and he felt happy to finally feel like himself again. He still believed that things may not go back to where they were but he surely knew that they would be better than before.
As Sonakshi walked out of the washroom and stood in front of the mirror, curling her hair, Rohit stood behind her, admiring every move of hers. This was something he was craving for a very long time and now, he finally had a chance. Sonakshi looked at his lost face looking at her and blushed. She missed this so much.
"Aapko kaam pe nahi jana, surgeon?" Sonakshi asked him through the mirror, her back still facing him.
"Jana toh hai par yeh zyada zaruri hai" Rohit, himself didn't understand why he said that, though he meant every word that slipped through his tongue.
"Kya?" Sonakshi asked, blushing. She already knew the answer to her question.
"Yeh" Rohit said as he crept closer to her and pinched her nose.
"Rohit... Jao" Sonakshi pushed him to the washroom, her cheeks all red.
Sonakshi smiled and gave herself a pat on the forehead. It wasn't even a complete day and still they were back to normal. She didn't expect Rohit to give in so early but she still loved it nonetheless. She quickly touched up the last of her makeup and walked down to find Kyara at the dining table with her bua.
"Itni jaldi uth gayi yeh?" Sonakshi asked, as she walked up towards Pooja and nuzzled Kyara's nose with hers.
"Mumma... Up" Kyara demanded as Sonakshi moved back. Sonakshi picked Kyara up and placed her on her lap, as she sat down at her seat.
"Pooji... Someone is blushing today" Ajit pointed at Sonakshi with his eyes.
"Haan... Kuch special hua hoga na... Raat bhar toh Kyara mere saath thi" Pooja joined in the teasing session.
"Aisa kuch nahi hai pooji" Sonakshi told her as Rohit walked down and sat beside her. He smiled at Sonakshi and pulled Kyara's cheeks.
"Haan kuch toh hua hai" Veena joined in as she saw Rohit and Sonakshi smile at each other.
"Nahi mumma" Sonakshi answered as Rohit looked on with confusion.
"Kya hua hai?" He asked.
"Yeh hua hai" Ajit answered, pointing in between both of them. It had been a long time since they even sat together for breakfast.
Rohit looked at Sonakshi and shared a brief eyelock with her. Their eyelock was broken with the sound of Ajit clearing up his throat. Sonakshi looked down with shyness as Kyara played with the pendant in her neck.
"Ab toh koi is baat ko mana bhi nahi kar sakta" Pooja teased them again as Both Rohit and Sonakshi focused on their foods and immediately left off for their respective jobs, leaving Kyara with Veena.

During lunchtime, Rohit had a few moments between his continuous patients and he immediately decided to give Sonakshi a call, as if he had been waiting for that moment for a really long time. As Sonakshi's caller tune rang for a longer time, Rohit felt fear engulf his being. Was she fine?
"Hello?" Sonakshi's voice emitted through the mobile.
"Sonakshi?" Rohit asked, finally breathing a sigh of relief.
"Haan, Rohit?" Sonakshi asked through the other side.
"Tum thik ho Sona?"
"Haan, Rohit mujhe kya hoga?"
"Kuch nahi just... Tum kya kar rahi ho?"
"Abhi just packup hua hai... Ghar ke liye nikal rahi hu"
"Hum date pe chale?" Rohit enthused.
"Aaj kya hogaya hai tumhe, Rohit? Itne din toh thikse dekhte bhi nahi the aur ab date par jana hai?" Sonakshi asked with confusion. She was still trying to give him enough space so as to not trouble him and he was just back to normal in a day, not that she was complaining.
"Tumhe aana hai ya nahi Sona?" He asked a bit irritated.
"Agar nahi aayi toh akele chale jaoge?"
"Aur agar chala gaya toh?"
"Toh chale jana... Bye" Sonakshi giggled as she pulled the phone slightly away from her ear.
"No no tum aao please"
"Okay doctor surgeon kaha aana hai?" Sonakshi asked him, still giggling. Rohit told her the address and immediately got up to inform Tulsi to cancel his appointments. He called Payal to book a table for them at the said restaurant and left with Ravi.
