Pyaar Again

Chapter 8

The whole of Sippy family immediately left for the hospital, with Veena, Naren and Ajit joining Rohit in his car. Rohit sat on the passenger seat, beside Ravi and kept on staring outside at the void. He wasn't still able to completely process the information of Sonakshi's accident and only prayed that what he heard through the phone was not true.

Veena was sitting beside Naren, who was constantly squeezing her hands, at intervals, to console her. Tears were trickling down her face continuously and her sobs grew louder as the time passed.

Ravi stopped the car in front of the Sukhmani Sippy hospital, waiting for everyone to walk out. Veena, Naren and Ajit stepped out of the car, waiting for Rohit but Rohit was completely lost into his own thoughts.

"Rohit sir, hospital aa gaya hai" Ravi called out to him, getting him out of his trance.

Rohit looked around and looked at Ravi. He stepped out of the car as Veena patted on his back. As all of the other Sippy family members, too reached the hospital and walked in, Tulsi came out of the operation theatre, looking for them.

"Rohit sir... Hume Sonakshi ma'am ko surgery ke liye le jana pada... Her state was very critical aur abhi woh OT me hi hai... Dr. Awasthy is performing a surgery on her... Dr. Dimpy unki help kar rahi hai... Ma'am ki producer unko yaha lekar aayi thi... Woh aapke cabin me hai..." Tulsi said as she rushed back into the operation theatre, after collecting all the essentials that were needed.

Rohit rushed to his cabin to ask the show producer why Sonakshi was in that state. He was just too scared to react to the information given by Tulsi. He wanted to know the reason behind Sonakshi's that state. Veena decided to go with Rohit as the other members of the family decided to wait near the operation theatre.

The Rastogis were called by Naren and the 3 of them had soon reached there. Suman was shattered and her tears never seemed to stop as Pulkit tried to console her, trying to be strong for her and Pari.

Rohit entered his cabin, panting for air and saw the producer sitting on the couch, her hand on her head. Veena walked in behind him.

"Dr. Rohit..." She started.

"Yeh sab kaise hua?" Rohit cut her in between.

"Dr. Rohit aap pehle baith jaiye..." Rohit sat on the couch in front of her. He wasn't ready to hear whatever she wanted to say but he still wanted to know.

"Dr. Rohit actually hum ek stunt sequence reshoot kar rahe the jisme Sonakshi had to jump off a 4 floor high building and Sonakshi wanted to perform the sequence herself pehli baar bhi so we decided to not use the body double in the reshoot as well..." Rohit felt fear engulf his being and a few words cut off from his hearing. Veena placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Every possible precaution was taken by us to avoid any accidents... Woh harnesses use kar rahi thi and as she jumped off the building, the harness was to support her before she fell... Lekin unfortunately the harness snapped and she fell down on the ground with force... We tried to bring her here as soon as possible... We're really sorry" She ended as Rohit felt numbness all over his body. He felt anxious, scared and all possible negative thoughts crossed his mind in a split second.

"Agar aaj Sonakshi ko kuch ho gaya toh iski responsibility kaun lega? Aap abhi sorry toh keh rahi ho lekin kya aapko andaza hai ki Sonakshi agar kabhi thik nahi ho payi if she loses some part of herself, how is she going to come out of it?" Veena snapped at her.

"We're really sorry Veena ma'am... All the necessary precautions were taken aur yeh hone ki possibility bohot kam thi..."

"Kam thi lekin yeh hua Sonakshi ke saath... Kya aap sab thode aur careful nahi ho sakte the?" Veena snapped again. Rohit just kept staring into the void.
