Summayah's POV

It was day 4 of staying home and life couldn't get any worse. I tried talking to my boss to let me resume but he insisted I take the break. He also stated that this might be my last chance for slacking. I feel so threatened but i am not scared. I know what i am capable of and i know that nothing can distract me ever again.

I yawned, standing up from the couch. I went to get some chocolate bars in the fridge. This has been my routine for the past four days. From the couch to the kitchen to the prayer mat. The sitting room is so messed up and i don't plan on cleaning it yet. I miss Hummayah, she was the very neat one. Though, i do all my chores but Hummayah always ensured i do them very early and everytime. We fought most times over chores but she ends up doing more than half of it.

I opened the chocolate wrapper and popped it in my mouth. I allowed the chocolate melt on my tongue before chewing it. I grabbed a bottle of water and gulped it down my throat. I looked at my messy kitchen and shook my head.

Allah knows i can't clean this house myself. I went straight to my room to change into something that's not revealing. I walked out of my apartment to the gate man's quarter.

"Adam" i called out.

"Yes madam" He answered from a distance, running to meet me.

"Please when will the cleaner come"

"Ah. . . she has come today o and she has gone. . . ermmm she will come on sunday again"

I face palmed myself mentally. "Give me her number"

There's no way on earth am I waiting till sunday to get my apartment cleaned. I would definitely fall sick from underlying diseases.

I collected the cleaners number from adam and dialled it on my phone but it wasn't connecting. I stood there trying to dial the number again when Adam left me to attend to someone knocking on the gate. I hissed as i tried it the third time.

"Ah madam dey here (madam is here)" I heard Adam say. A strong cologne hit my nostril and anger filled my whole body. I know who smells like that.

I turned to look at my worst nightmare standing in front of me, wearing an annoying smile with a wrapped basket in his hand.

I fold my arms and waited till he approached me.

"Hi summayah" He smiled warmly.

"Hi samad. . . what are you doing here" i lashed out.

"Common you won't embarrass me in front of the gateman. Would you?" He smirked.

I placed my hand on my fore head, feeling sick. "Adam you can go back to what you were doing"

"Yes madam" Adam replied, hopping away.

I placed my hands on my hips. "So what are you doing here?"

"Paying a visit to a friend"

"I am not your friend. . .stop coming to my house uninvited" I shouted.

"You are going to bring the neighbours to this?. . . common Summy, its just a friendly visit"

My nose flared. "Don't ever call me summy again and I am not your friend. . . now leave" i pointed to the gate.

He smiled thinly "When would you even give me the chance to show that i care so much about you" he sounded hurt.

"The day you realise I don't need your care or whatever you have to offer"

"Summayah listen. . ." He started.

I raised my hands, cutting him off "Hey. . .you listen, you don't come to people's house without informing them. At least respect yourself"
