Two hours later, while huffing and puffing lifting them weights in the gym, Patrick's phone goes off. RING! RING! He dropped his weights making a solid thud sound as they met the ground. He jogged over to his bag and snatched his phone up.
"What?" he asked completely out of breath. Sweat dripped down his face.
"She's awake." Bergita answered. Her words hit him and he wasn't sure why. He just stood their in shock. Two hours later? Two hours? That's not right. It should be more like two days or two weeks, not hours. Something was fishy.
"Okay," he said and hung up. He let out a huge breath he didn't know he'd been holding in. She was alive. That was good. . . and bad. He'd started to think of her as a friend and to some degree depend on her for companionship. He loved talking to her and hanging out with her even though most of the time they just gave each other crap. But what if Drew was right? That thought alone made him want to hurl. He couldn't stand Drew let alone the thought of Drew being right. What if she was gumming up the works and making him go soft? I mean sure he tried to save as many girls as he could, but it really bothered him that she wouldn't make it. Nothing ever bothered him, except for Drew. He was scared to go see her. He should go, though, just not alone.
He quickly showered and changed into a black tee and a pair of jeans and made his way to Drew's room. He knew if he took Drew with him he'd stay farther away from her and that Drew would do most of the talking like he always did.
Coming down the toward Drew's room he could loud, over exaggerated moans coming from Drew's room. Patrick rolled his eyes and without a knock opened the door slightly before kicking it open loudly.
"Hey, break it up you disgusting trolls!" He hollered.
Sure enough Monica and Drew were in a messy heap of blankets on his bed.
"Ugh! You can't just barge in here!" she screamed at Patrick. Ignoring her he looked Drew dead in the eye.
"She's awake."
"Oh Thank God!" Drew let out a breath and leaned his head back as if he was seriously feeling some relief. It threw both Patrick and Monica off. Surely he didn't care that much if he was already in bed with another woman. "I must go see her!" he immediately got out of the bed not even bothering to cover up.
"WHOA! Dude!" Patrick turned away from them. He did not need to see that much of another man EVER. "A heads up would've been nice."
"Wait!" Monica grabbed at Drew. "You aren't leaving me now. We haven't finished. Don't you want to feel good and be naughty? We'll make a baby the old fashioned away."
"Oh God!" Patrick thought he was going to puke. He did not want to hear or picture that. Ew. He also didn't want Chloe to have to sleep in that bed after Monica had dirtied it up.
"I am leaving and we are NOT making any babies together." Drew answered her.
Patrick couldn't see them, but he could sense the tension in the room. I heard the sound of fabric moving around and hoped it was clothes covering Drew. He wanted to get out of this room as quickly as possible. Now he wanted to see her to warn her and somehow protect her from being with Drew. But what could she do even if he told her? she couldn't tell Drew no. Lord only knows what he'd do. No, he couldn't say anything.
While Patrick was consumed with his thoughts, Drew had clothed himself, brushed his teeth, and spritzed himself with some cologne.
"Get out." Drew ordered. Patrick turned around confused as to whether Drew was ordering him or Monica. He was talking to Monica. Monica glared at him her teeth gritted hard together.
