The Decision

I didn't what to do, who to chose.

My mind was devoid of order. Who shall I choose, Rass or Roen. Wait...Why am I hesitanting? I should choose Rass within the blink of an eye...It would help my race! But Roen...My land...No...If my race prevail my land will no longer be in danger... I should choose Rass after all to protect my land was the reason I agreed to stay with Roen. It is decided I will go with Rass.

That night I sneaked out to the chapel where we first met.

  "Rass." I whispered afraid that I'd awake Roen, or was it a more frightening reason?

  As I ponder these thoughts, arms hugged my waist, and I turned to meet the face of Rass sliding in the crevance of my left shoulder blade and neck. He breathed onto my neck "Luka..." And then turned me towards him and kissed me. At that moment I knew why I had only whisperedRass'  name....it was not of the fear of Roen finding me, but afraid that Rass could hear me....For I did not in anyway whisper gently and warmly as I would to a lover. It seems even though my logical mind has made the decision, my heart refuse to accept it.

As he kissed me, my eyes began to leak water that I never knew I had reserved for Roen.

   "Luka...Are you crying tears of joy? Its okay, I promise I will only allow you to cry tears of joy. I swear." I closed my eyes, what an idiot. It was not tears of joy, but of sadness, longing, goodbye, and first love.
I had fallen in love with Roen.

Why!? Why did I realize so late? If only, even an hour sooner. I have walked to this step, no matter how I wish.... I can never go back. Back to those gentle and obsessive whispers, wild kisses, to those words that I'll never hear again "I love you. "

   I whispered those words, it seemed that Rass heard and replyed not knowing this was my apology and confession to Roen "I and You."
