The little mermaid

Before we had disney we had the Grimm fairytales . What's the difference you ask ? Well the Grimm fairytales are a bunch of fairy tales written by the Grimm brothers and just like thier name they're pretty Grimm. Imagine disney but with torture, rape, cannibalism, infanticide, necrophilia, bestiality, cruel and unusual punishment, and incest – all of them taboo subjects in today’s sterilized society. Many consider them unsuitable reading material for 21st century children, with their sunny dispositions and delicate, impressionable minds; which is the reason why we have we have Disney.

Originally the little mermaid was written by a man called Hans Christian Anderson. Unlike the lovely disney classic this tale spins a totally different ending for out beloved heroine.

The story starts out the same with a mermaid saving a handsome prince from drowning and going to the sea which to get a new pair of legs to charm the prince. Now this is where the story takes a horrible twist The witch agrees to give the mermaid the most beautiful pair of legs known to man. But there’s a catch: every step the mermaid takes will feel like it was taken on razorblades – her feet will bleed ceaselessly. And even worse, she had to have her tongue cut out and now will forever be silenced. But the mermaid, in love with the Prince, agrees to the deal.

The next morning, the prince finds the mermaid washed up on the shore, naked, with her beautiful new human legs. He invites the mermaid to a ball, where she preforms a dance to express her love for him although it hurt. but alas  he falls in love and marries another woman. The mermaid, after hearing such news turns to her sisters for aid .they give her the idea of killing the Prince so she could stay human,but  eventually throws herself into the ocean and becomes sea foam and dies.

Honestly I prefer  Disney’s rendition over this version .
