I've been dreaming of the choosing ceremony since I was a little girl. Going up in front of my family and choosing my faction in which I belong. They say about 95% choose to stay within their faction but to be honest, I am unsure of where I belong.
For those who don't know the factions they are Abnegation, the selfless, Amity, the peaceful, Candor, the honest, Erudite, the intelligent, and Dauntless, the brave. And those who don't fit in anywhere we call them the factionless.
I'm Abnegation so I'm suppose to be caring right? I mean I am don't get me wrong but I'm just not like everyone else. My older brother Caleb, he's a natural. He's loved by everyone. I'm almost positive he's going to stay in Abnegation not only because good at what he does we're also the children of Andrew and Natalie Prior. My father is the member of the council along side Marcus Eaton who's the city council leader. I believe Caleb will stay Abnegation for the sake of our parents. Maybe I should just stay too or maybe I shouldn't.

I wake up relatively early because today is the Aptitude Test which is going to tell me where I really belong. I make my way into the kitchen to help out with breakfast and I can see Caleb already started on it."Slept in a little huh Beatrice?" Caleb says as he's making the eggs.
"I didn't sleep in at all." I state while rolling my eyes. "I'm not as excited as you are for today Caleb."
I grab the tableware for the table and place nicely around where everyone sits.
"Who says I'm excited?" Caleb questions.
I don't say anything I just roll my eyes at him and let out a sigh.
My parents soon make their way down to the table and we eat before getting ready to leave for the test.

My father tends to Caleb and my mom helps me to get ready."How do you feel about a little trim?" She asks.
"Yeah, I don't mind." I smile.
My mom slowly began to cut away my split ends and I just watch as my hair fall on the floor.
"Are you nervous?" She asks.
"No. Were you nervous when you did the test?" I ask.
"No... I was petrified." She smiled. "But I had no reason to be and neither do you.
My mom finishes cutting my hair and pulls it up into a low, tight bun. She makes her way over to our mirror compartment and opens it slowly. I look down until it's completely open and I look at myself. It's been a while since I have because it's one of the roles here in Abnegation.
"I'm so proud of you." My mom smiles.
I embrace her in a hug but I'm still looking at myself in the mirror. Because we see ourselves as unselfish we don't look at ourselves in the mirror that often. Only on the second day of every third month to be exact.
We release from our hug and my mom immediately closes the mirror door and locks it.
"Rules are rules." She states.

Caleb and I approach the building and I just get chills running down my back. What will my test be? Am I Abnegation?
"You will be fine Beatrice." Caleb says as he places his arm on my back.
We get in line and I see this one boy from Candor talking to a few of the Abnegation kids. I really couldn't make out what he was saying until he screamed we kept the extra food to ourselves. I was about to go and confront him but Caleb grabs me.
"Beatrice, don't." He states firmly.
————————————————————————
We finally get into the building and we were told about the test, our results and the fact that we have the freedom to choose which ever faction we want.We make our way to where the test is being administered. I look over towards Caleb and he just gave me a head nod before walking in.
I open the door slowly and I see a young girl, maybe in her mid 20s, cleaning off the chair.
"I'm Tori and I'll be administering your test." She says.
I scan the room and see how the front wall is a long mirror. I look at myself but quickly look down.
"What's with you Abnegation people and mirrors." Tori asks.
"We reject Vanity." I state.
"Yeah.. I know sit down"
I sit down towards the chair and Tori explains to me what I'll be experiencing. She hands me a small cup.
"What is it?" I ask.
"Bottoms up." She smiles.
I drink the liquid and immediately start to feel weird. I close my eyes until the sensation stopped. I open my eyes and see that the room is completely empty. No Tori, no doors, just me and the mirror.
I walk around until the room turned into what seems like a mirror maze. I really shouldn't be looking at it but I'm just so drawn to this illusion. All of my reflections follow me except just one of them. I slowly walk up and reach out to touch her.
"Choose one." She states.
"Why?" I ask.
"Just choose before it's too late."
I look at the table where there's a piece of meat and a knife. What the hell am I suppose to do with that? I look up once again to see that my reflection is gone. I look at the table and the items were gone as well. That's when I hear a growl. I turn around and see a big dog. I slowly try to back up but it just makes the dog angrier. It lunges at me but I dodge it. How am I suppose to fight this? That's when it hit me. It's not real. The dogs starts to run towards me and I just fall to the ground. I was waiting for an impact but instead I heard a little wimpier. I look up and see that the dog has turned into a puppy.
"Puppy!" A little voice said.
I turn my head and see a little girl with Abnegation cloths on. I smile at her until her facial expression changes. Her eyes were lined with fear. I turn my head to see that the puppy was a dog again and started to run towards the girl. I immediately get up and chase the dog down. Once I was close enough that's when I threw myself into the dog.
I jerk awake and immediately look at Tori who has shock written all across her face.
"Get up!" She says pulling my arm. "We're going out the back door."
"Why?" I ask. "What were my results?"
She stops in the doorway, "you're going to tell your parents the serum made you sick and I sent you home."
"What were my results?" I say firmly.
She just stares at me. "Abnegation... and Amity... and Dauntless." She looks down at the ground. "Your results were inconclusive."
