Catra's eyes flitted open, her mix-matched eyes darting from her cot to the crude rectangular window piercing the stone-clay walls. She shook her head as thoughts raced through her head so fast that she barely had time to sort through any of them, until one had barreled so fast into her mind with such force, her head almost twitched to the side.
'Was that Adora?'
She had grown accustomed to the pleasant dreams of Adora meeting her in the Whispering Woods, eating berries and bread and talking the day away until they said their goodbyes and Catra woke with a unfaltering grin on her face, but this one held a new and more ominous tone to it. Adora wasn't there, but her voice, her presence was there but her physical body wasn't. She still felt the oak tree's bark on her hands. She pushed herself off her cot, and stared at the window "Adora...Where are you?" She asked the nothingness of the room, of course she did know where Adora was, where she lived and what her job was now, but Catra never went to see her. Adora was Brightmoon's head of the royal guards now after all, what would she want to do with a mangy cat like her? She visited the castle once after the Horde was defeated, Glimmer was handling her queen duties much better, she was much more focused. She and Glimmer weren't the best of friends, but friends nonetheless. Catra looked up at the ceiling before recalling a memory...

Catra paced impatiently while Glimmer finished her meeting. She heard the acute murmuring of agreements and the clatter of feet against marble floor. Glimmer emerged from the room and looked at Catra "What was it you wanted to ask me?" She asked with a friendly stir in her voice, gripping her staff. Catra cleared her throat, her tail whisking to one side "I was wondering...If you knew where Adora was?" Glimmer looked thoughtful for a second before pointing her staff towards a window that dawned a view of the Whispering Woods.
"She lives in the heart of the woods, now. I would've offered her a place here but she seemed dead set on living in those...Creepy woods." Glimmer's eyes lost their gentle focus, and twinkled with the familiar farawayness that someone had when lost in memories. Catra's ears flicked as she started thinking of how to come about meeting with Adora until Glimmer muttered some disparaging words "She's going to be busy though, Catra. I wouldn't recommend visiting her just yet." Catra's head quickly turned to Glimmer, wanting to retort but also not wanting to get on her bad side (because Glimmer was the only thing keeping her from begging for scraps at this point). She sighed, feeling defeated, and nodded in understanding before leaving the castle.

Catra muttered something, cursing herself for letting days turn to weeks, and letting weeks turn to months. She never meant to break the promise to herself to see Adora, but everyday was a chore she had to complete and she couldn't see herself stopping anytime soon. She felt frustrated tears run down her cheeks and she quickly wiped them away, sighing heavily. Her ears then perked to the sudden, booming cheers and laughter arousing from outside. She swiftly moved to her front door, swinging it open to see what all the commotion was about. And what she saw she couldn't believe;
Adora.
She was dressed in glistening, gold and white armor, a look she sports a lot and works well in Catra's opinion. A headdress similar to that of hers as She-Ra, reflected sunlight onto the ground in spots. Catra felt her heart quicken, blood rushing to her cheeks suddenly, flushing her face a light shade of red. Adora walked through the town, waving nervously to the villagers before she locked eyes with Catra. Adora's near silver-blue eyes and golden hair where enough to make the lowest of bandits stop and stare. Catra tried to swallow away the lump forming in her throat, and she stood straight. Adora gave her a bright smile, stopping her little parade to walk over to Catra "Good to see you again, Catra." Catra couldn't help but feel a slight nagging feeling to scrunch her face at how annoyingly hard Adora was trying to be a martyr to these people. She brushed it off however and leaned against her door frame, trying to play it cool "Hey Adora." She said, her tail waving left and right. Adora chuckled "Don't act like you didn't miss me." She landed a light punch on Catra's shoulder, to which she rolled her eyes "With the whole town watching us right now, I'd like to keep the pleasantries on the down-low." She said in a low, yet playful tone. Adora looked around and noted the crowd, then turned to Catra "Alright then, stop by my house later, it's in the Whispering Woods. We can talk over tea." Catra rolled her eyes slightly, her ears twitching but not minding relearning Adora's house location, and becoming increasingly excited over the idea of sitting down and talking over tea.
She watched Adora leave, and quickly whisked herself back inside to prepare for tea.
