The New Kid (Legosi x Reader WIP)

Chapter 3: Growing Closer

     From your dorm bed, you arose, feeling tired once again. You couldn’t sleep last night because of your roommates making a ruckus. With all the might you had, you got up and took a shower, changing out of your pajamas and into your uniform. You had barely enough time to pack, and ran out the door to class. As you walked to your seat you greeted Legosi, him giving a slight smile and a wave. Sitting down, you remove your backpack from your shoulders and place it beside your seat, then pull out a sheet of paper and a pencil.
     As you take notes, you couldn't help but glance over at Legosi, looking at him. His face always looks distressed, as if he’s in constant fear of something. His fur is unruly and fluffy, with cool silver and white hue. You also noticed his enormous frame, he practically towers over you. Why hadn't you noticed this before?
     About 10 minutes before class ended you reached for your breakfast in your bag, yet you felt nothing there. “Dammit,” you mutter as you realize that you forgot to grab it when you rushed out the door. Legosi soon took notice of this. “Hey (y/n), do you want...my food? I’m guessing you forgot it..?” he said with concern. “...No it's fine Legosi, besides, what about you?” you reply. He insisted that you have his breakfast, so after some slight inner-turmoil you accepted his offer and took his food. An egg breakfast biscuit. After you gobbled it down, you packed your things and walked to your next class with Legosi.
     You both walked down the hallway in awkward silence, the sound of footsteps hitting the linoleum. You needed to break this silence. “Just wanted to say thank you for giving me your breakfast Legosi..” you say before going to your next class. “It’s not a problem... Any time, (y/n) ..” said Legosi. "Hey! U-Um…" you stutter, wanting to ask him something. "Oh.? what is it?.." he questioned. "Do you mind if I.. ask for your.. phone number?". "Um...Sure.. one second!" he said, quickly grabbing something from his bag. He then pulled out a small sticky note and wrote his number on it, then handed it to you. "Here you go.".
     Legosi then waved at you and left for his class down the hall. "He actually did it, he gave me his phone number! " you thought. You then folded up the note and stuffed it in your pocket. Something about his generosity and kindness towards you made you feel warm inside (Like mash potato ヽ(○･▽･○)ﾉﾞ ). Although you both just recently met, you had felt if you were already on good terms. 

     After you got back from eating your dinner, you got ready for bed. As you lay there, you decide to add him to your contacts list on your phone. Soon after you send him a text to let him know it was you. "Hey! It's (y/n). ". You eagerly wait for a reply. 5 minutes. 10 minutes. Any time now. 15 minutes. You then got a notification. "Hey.". Legosi is quite the talker huh? You both had a small but riveting chat about each other’s interests, and what felt like mere minutes became hours. The next morning you awoke and did your usual morning routine, yet this time texting Legosi “Good morning!”. Despite having horrendous sleep, knowing that you’d meet Legosi today made you happier than usual. During math class, you both rambled about jargon practically until it ended, having almost no time to eat nor do your work. It had almost felt like time had flown by. You both then walked together out the class into the hall, still talking.  Chemistry class was your next class, and you waved goodbye to Legosi before stepping in.
     While writing down formulas, you couldn’t help but think about him again. Just being around him was fun in itself. Although he’s quite awkward and seems in his head most of the time, It’s kind of charming in some way. After school was over you two both walked back to your respective dorms. “Hey.. (y/n)... would you like to hang out in my dorm room?” he asked. “Hmm, well I’m not really busy most of the time, so why not?” you reply, eager to spend time with him. You had doubts in your mind, but what could happen?
     As you step into the dorm room, you are greeted by a golden retriever. “Hi there! My name is Jack! What’s yours?”. “(y/n). N-Nice to meet you,” you say. “(y/n)? Well nice to meet you (y/n)! You must be Legosi’s new friend, I’ve heard some stuff about you, but I never thought I’d get to meet you! Legosi and I go way back,”. This dog’s energy is so high you can’t even keep up with him. As the retriever keeps talking, Legosi guides you to his bed where you both sit. You both chat about your favorite mangas and shows, and he shows you his manga collection, even offering to lend it to you. He even shows you his pet beetle, Beetley. You both then played some video games, and after a few hours, you went back to your dorm, waving to him goodbye.
     You check the time on your phone. 12 AM. It’s already midnight? “We really hung out for a while..” you think. As you cover yourself with your blanket and close your eyes, you think about how close you’ve grown, seeing it’s only been a week since you both met.
