now in the safety of the medical room, the two boys stayed silent as jisung examined the deep cuts in felix's palms. after a few seconds of contemplating, the elder decided to rinse and disinfect the wounds, before wrapping them in bandages.

as he twirled the material around and around the boy's hands, he suddenly spoke up.

"your hands are half the size of mine, the fuck?"

the freckled boy chuckled as he looked down at their hands, smiling when he realized the other was right. his hands looked so tiny in comparison to jisung's- but that's not important right now. there was a question he'd been dying to ask since they got here, but he couldn't figure out how to word it without sounding like a dick.

well, here goes nothing. "...why did you, uhm, save me?" the blonde asked as he watched jisung put the medical supplies away. "don't go wandering around at night alone anymore," the taller said, ignoring the question he had been asked, "clean those with clean, cold water every five hours. here's some spare bandage to rewrap them."

bewildered that he was being treated with such kindness, but also confused as to why he didn't get an answer, felix nodded and stood from the bed he was sitting on. "do you think anyone is still awake? you know, hanging around in the lounge on our floor?"

he had discovered their rooms were on the same floor, but at opposite ends of the hallway, jisung's was at the very end, room 25, right next to the lounge for their floor. the elder shrugged, "probably just chan and changbin. it's 3 am, after all."

"3 am?!"

"yeah."

felix groaned. he had to wake up at 4:30 - in order to have enough time to keep up with his korean studies - and he hadn't gotten a wink of sleep. not to mention, he was in a fuck ton of pain.

the two boys walked through the barely lit dorm hallways and up the stairs, all the way until they reached their floor. "thank you so, so fucking much for helping me. i never thought i'd be thanking you of all people for something; but i genuinely owe you my life."

"don't mention it, just stay safe," jisung replied. "will do!" felix said with a weak smile before heading off into his room.

the ravenette watched as the freckled boy he was sure he hated turned away, his small, injured hands struggling to push the door handle down. he fought back a smile, something he never had to do, and slipped his hand under the other boy's pushing the handle down for him.

"get some sleep, kid."

"who you calling kid?!" felix said with fake offence. the elder almost chuckled.

"night."

smiling, for some reason, the blonde nodded. "goodnight."
