Cry. Forgive. Learn. Move on. Let your tears water the seeds of your future happiness. - Steve Maraboli
Who would have thought that a normal girl like me would have her life take such a big turn? It's almost as if I am supposed to be a new person.
Not knowing how I let my emotions get a hold of me, I blew my cover. My perfect cover which would let me have a normal life. I couldn't even blame Tony. I cared for him after working with him for months. I loved his goofy, carefree attitude. He didn't deserve to witness what he did.
But now about me there's no way I will get to see my family or friends. I can't even step out without everyone noticing me and then I'd be in jail.
I lay in bed wishing I could be someone else. Checking the time it showed it was nearly eleven in the morning. I turned around not wishing to wake up so I could continue in my self wallowing.
My thoughts were all over the place and I didn't even realize that someone had entered the room.
"Give yourself some credit", a voice startled me.
"Astra! You frightened me", I put a hand over my chest to calm myself.
"You were so lost you didn't even realize that I've been in here for at least ten minutes", she teased me.
"I...what... no I haven't been that lost", I defended.
"Yeah you have I forgot your fresh clothes so I said I'd be back and you kept your plate on the table and left", she stated.
I was left speechless and she chuckled at my expression. She handed me a plate and took a chair and sat next to me.
"You know your hair looks cool like this", she started running her finger through a few colored strands of my hair.
"I've always wanted to color my hair but I've been extremely scared to spoil my hair", I said.
"I know a safe brand you can try that. Maybe you should get a makeover, so no one can recognize you", she suggested.
"Loving the idea. Do you have a color in mind?", I asked.
"Sure, how about we make the whole thing blue to match the highlights?"
"I don't think so. Sound's kinda obvious don't you think?"
"Now that you say it yeah. Do you have any color in mind?"
"Yeah I've always wanted to do pink", I said as excitement flooded my voice and my body.
"Sure, that's great Barbie", she teased.
"Hey!", I protested and she laughed while imitating a barbie waving and giving flying kisses to a crowd.
"Also I want a pixie cut", I added.
"Sure I can do that", she said.
"You? In what hands am I putting my lovely hair".
"Don't be so dramatic. I used to help my mom at the parlor all through school. You'll be surprised what magic these hands can do", she wiggled her fingers in my face and I slapped them away.
"When do we start?"
"As soon as we meet everyone", she checked her phone as it just pinged. A small blush spread over her face while she read the message. Watching her expression I whistled, her eyes snapped back to me and her blush increased.
