Chapter 3 (Sample)

"Lifu, where are your parents?" Lord Yi asked having Mu Shao Qing slowly walked out from behind him.

"Father is here to see you. Mother is at home because she is still carrying little cub." Mu Shao Qing could see that the little girl was from one of the clans in the Celestial Realm. "Nice to meet you little fox. I'm Fang Lifu." She said having Mu Shao Qing know the surname. She was the Third Prince's adopted daughter.

Slowly walking out, she sniffed the small hand that laid in front of her. Making a croaking noise, she smiled looking to Fang Lifu who laughed seeing how Mu Shao Qing didn't bite her. "What does your father want with me?" Lord Yi decided to ask and get to the point.

"Father wanted to thank you still for helping him and mother a few months back. Although, he did say that there was something more secretive that he wanted to tell you." Fang Lifu said having to follow Mu Shao Qing who went around in a circle around Lord Yi who was standing in the center of them both.

"Then I'll go and see him." Lord Yi said having to look at Mu Shao Qing who whined looking up to him. Fang Lifu caught her having to hug her and smile seeing how soft she was. "You be good." Lord Yi bent down looking directly to Mu Shao Qing who was shocked that he would tell her instead of Fang Lifu.

"I'll take care of her! She is my new friend!" Fang Lifu said having Mu Shao Qing look up to see how young this girl was. She was of course about five or six years old. Lord Yi nodded having to leave Mu Shao Qing and Fang Lifu alone. "Let's play together!!!" Mu Shao Qing sighed knowing how children were more energetic than her.

Lord Yi walked inside seeing Fang Teng Fei waiting for him, Third Prince of Celestial Realm. "What did you wish to talk about?" Lord Yi said having to see how Fang Teng Fei had a worried look.

"I know it's not my place to ask but I wanted to know about Ding Jia. Why would the demon be roaming in the mortal realm that time? Also, was there something that the felines who lived in the mortal realm knew that we didn't?" Fang Teng Fei had started questioning after Liu Fu Juan mentioned it on their wedding day.

Lord Yi turned away having to look out to the sky which never really changed much. "Maybe... Us deities and immortals have lived in the Celestial Realm for so long. There may not even be that single demon who was in the mortal realm who wanted to bring back Ding Jia."

"Does this mean that you may have found something?" Fang Teng Fei was a bit surprised by how Lord Yi was already a step ahead of him.

Lord Yi turned around to see Fang Teng Fei. "If possible, there may actually be more than that demon who was trying to stop us. I've been keeping an eye on the Demon Realm for some time and it seems calm but one cannot judge behind closed doors." He said having to them stumble and hold his chest.

"Lord Yi?!" Fang Teng Fei was stopped from going over to him. Fang Teng Fei had respected Lord Yi since young and saw him as a great warrior and ruler.

"I'm fine."

"Your still not fully healed yet after all these years. When will you find a cure for that poison caused by Ding Jia?" Fang Teng Fei said looking to see how Lord Yi had managed throughout the years that he had been alive.

"I will fine it soon. If not then I will have to find another way to rid of Ding Jia before she can escape her prison." Lord Yi said having to look outside again. Fang Teng Fei went over to him and saw Fang Lifu playing with a little blue fox in the Evergreen Palace garden.

"Is that your new companion?" Fang Teng Fei said having Lord Yi look to them then back to the blue fox.

"No, she is just a little fox that passes by. She just one day showed up and kept me company whenever I was in garden."

"So I can see the rumors were true." Hearing another voice, both turned around to see the second prince of Celestial Palace.

"Second Brother." Fang Teng Fei greeted his older brother, Fang Jiayi the Second Prince of the Celestial Realm.

"What brings Prince Jiayi here now?" Lord Yi looked to see how Fang Jiayi welcomed himself into Lord Yi's home.

"Oh, just here to clarify the rumors that you have taken a liking to a certain spiritual fox but I didn't think it would look like that." He said seeing the little fox which was playing around with his niece. The three of them stood watching the two little ones outside playing. "She is beautiful. Would make a fine scarf for me."

Lord Yi had tea splash onto Fang Jiayi who had his mouth open to see that Lord Yi could not take a joke.

Mu Shao Qing was exhausted having to play all day with Fang Lifu who drained her entire energy. 'Have I really been that lazy?' She questioned feeling how sore she was and remained sleeping in her bed once she got home. Closing her eyes, she slept till mid-noon with her brother already gone to the Celestial Palace, a dark figure had entered her room having to toss in sleeping powder to have her deeply asleep. Being thrown into a bag, she couldn't even get up due to the high amount of sleeping powder used even though her senses were still wide awake trying to force her up. "Did you get her?" Hearing her step-mother's voice, Mu Shao Qing knew it very well but she couldn't get her body to wake up. "Good, just go and make sure she is never seen again. I don't care where you toss her. Just toss her far away from here."

Not knowing where she had gone, she could feel her bag had been tossed somewhere feeling her tumble and hit hard objects. Forcing herself up, her body badly ached but due to the harsh impact of the fall had her woken up. Biting onto the bag, she ripped it off having her be able to escape. Not even knowing where she had gone, Mu Shao Qing needed to get away from wherever she was.

Using her instincts, she started digging and crawled into the hole she dug. Going inside, she curled up panting while still feeling the pain on her body. 'I'm scared.' Mu Shao Qing said sobbing in her head with tears coming down her fuzzy cheeks. Hearing leaves being crushed like they were being walked on. She curled tighter having to be afraid of who or what may be coming.

"There's nothing here. We've been hunting for days but still nothing. Let's just go back." Hearing people's voices but now Mu Shao Qing may have had an idea where she was. Only one realm would say such a line.

"Yeah, yeah. Let's go. I thought I saw something being thrown here." One said while they started walking back. Mu Shao Qing sighed having to rest for the dark night knowing that she was going to have to try and survive alone for the time being until she can cultivate enough. Using her powers takes a lot of years but here in the mortal realm she could barely do so since immortals and deities powers could backfire back at some point.

"Where is the little fox? She never skipped a day to come here and be in my garden." Lord Yi said having to feel as though something was off which he had left the meeting at the Celestial Palace early for this reason.
