Prologue
One hundred fifty years ago, war ravaged the lands of Gwenith. Followers of Kendrin (god of sorrow and death), turned friendly kingdoms against one another. Donning the armor of one kingdom, they razed the village of another. Soon, all of Gwenith was at war, leaving the followers of Kendrin to watch as the world began to tear itself apart. Then, when exhaustion from war set into the hearts of all involved, Kendrin’s army marched across the lands killing or converting everyone they came across.
Within a year all but two kingdoms fell or were converted to the faith of sorrow. Boulderdrake and Featherleaf stood in defiance of Kendrin’s reign over the heavens. Kendrin was so close to having the power of every prayer uttered on Gwenith and craved, no hungered, for more.
The king of Boulderdrake, assuming that his kingdom was alone, requested that his only son lead a small party to hunt down and eliminate the leader of Kendrin’s many armies.
Meanwhile, the king of Featherleaf assembled a council of mages and hid his kingdom using illusionary magic. His daughter pleaded with him to take some offensive strike before Kendrin’s armies found them, but
he would not hear her. He would not even entertain the possibility of it. She grew so frustrated with his ignorance of the inevitable outcome that she slipped away in the dead of night. Her personal mission was to sabotage Kendrin’s armies anyway that she could.Along their journey’s, the prince from Boulderdrake and the princess from Featherleaf met and unwillingly joined forces. Together they defeated the demon Baklar using teamwork and quick spells cast through wands.
Kendrin was infuriated to a see a new magic, still in its infancy, decimate the leader of his armies. He was angered even further as the duo used illusionary magic to impersonate Baklar and lead his great armies into death traps.
As the last of his great armies fell, Kendrin’s rage hit its peak. He crossed the celestial planes into Belinae’s (goddess of magic) kingdom and stole the Tablet of Mana, the source of all wand magic. He then crushed the tablet into an uncountable number of crystalline shards and cast them down upon Gwenith killing millions. For the Gwenithians, it rained death for weeks.
Once the crystal showers ended, the entire world mourned for there was but a handful of people who had not lost a loved one. Belinae then came to one of her faithful and gave him a glimpse of the future. The pages afterward tell the tale of when Belinae’s prophecy comes to pass. ... … …
Chapter I
Unforgotten Magiks
Itwas a dark, cold night. Swift gusts of wind did not make matters any more pleasant either. A particularly strong gust made Trevor wonder, (for about the fifth time) why he was meeting Tristan outside of town this late. Pulling his cloak tighter around him, Trevor decided not to think on it. Instead, he pulled out his long sword and began to sharpen it.
Trevor was thin and very muscular due to his constant sword practice. His chocolate brown eyes matched his somewhat wild and dark, brown hair. He looked very mature in the eyes, for a sixteen year old. It was hard to believe that in a few days time he would be taking the coming of age trial to become a man. He decided to take his mind off yet another thing and began to gaze about for a distraction.
Peering about, Trevor soaked in the scene of him and his brother's perfect meeting spot. It was an oval shaped clearing some thirty feet long and twenty feet wide. The
