This is my very first story and there are alot of grammer mistakes, but I hope you like it. Also this is the first chapter, and like all first chapters it starts out kind of slow, so please give the story a chance.

Chapter 1
Lady Patrisha sighed as she sat down on the bench of her balcony and gazed at the now setting sun as it kissed the ocean. She felt exhausted, she just wanted to watch the sun set and not think for once in a very long time. But of course not thinking was the last thing she was going to do, so she set her mind on less pressing matters.
Such as the ball, but take no misunderstandings from her earlier statement the ball was very dear to her indeed. She couldn't wait for it, and did she mention it was not just any ball, but the Donaldson ball!
Which only came around when there was a Donaldson son looking for his bride, and this prince was none other than Prince Henry himself. The Prince that she had recently become closely acquainted to, in fact so closely acquainted that she wouldn't be surprised if he himself came and invited-
"Ma Lady" Melissa spoke gently but sternly. "It is time to come inside."
Patrisha almost rolled her eyes at the interruption "Must I always be interrupted when I am relaxing" she sighed walking back into her bed chamber.
Melissa held back a smile as she spoke "Well I guess I will tell Prince Henry that you are too busy gazing at the stars to see him."
Excitement flashed through Patrisha's eyes as she questioned her chambers maid, "He's here?" Malinda nodded letting a bright smile stretch across her worn face. In a few moments Patrisha had on a simple emerald gown from her overflowing wardrobe and was struggling to brush her hair into a tight bun in front of her vanity mirror.
Melissa almost laughed at the young girl's eagerness, as she grabbed the brush and smoothly assembled Patrisha's mud brown hair into sleek bun. She also added a bit of blush and lip stick to help the girls green eyes sparkle more than usual.
Melissa was as proud as a mother while looking at the young lady she had practically raised. "Hurry," she whispered "you must not keep him waiting."
Patrisha bounced up from the chair as gracefully as possible and brushed her lips across Malinda's cheek as quick thanks. Then she sauntered down the steps almost taking two at a time in her excitement.
That was until she reached the last step where she missed it completely causing her to fall. Patrisha readied herself to feel the cool marble floor, but instead she landed on something as soft as velvet.
Patrisha lifted her head in confusion, as she heard a small chuckle beneath her. "If I would have known you wanted to see me this much I would have arrived earlier." Prince Henry said with a small smile.
Patrisha's eyes widened as she look into the deep hazel eyes under her. She tried her best to quickly but gracefully get off of him. She could feel a blush creeping up her neck. She turned away from Prince Henry while she composed herself, letting her face cool down.
When she turned around the prince was standing there as if nothing had happened. Not even one dirty blond hair out of place. " I assure you Prince, that it wasn't you that caused me to rush but the fact that I kept you waiting." She replied.
The Prince had a knowing look in his as if he knew that even if she would have heard of his arrival right away this still would have been the outcome.
