"All riiight, who can tell me who Christopher Cross is?"

"He discovered America" Brittany answered, making Stephanie giggle and Finn nod approvingly.

"Close," Mr Schue said as he put the lid back on his marker "He did write an iconic chart topper: 'Sailing'"

Stephanie, who was currently sandwiched between the two other blonde girls, sighed before slumping back into her seat.

"I have a bad feeling about this lesson" Kurt spoke, turning towards Mercedes. The girl could only agree with him. She'd been in the glee club (and McKinley) for just over a week now and was already familiar to Mr Schue's constant pep talks and random lessons on random artists she couldn't care less about.

"Never heard of him, don't want to hear about him" Tina chimed in.

"Preach" Stephanie added quietly, earning a smirk from the Latina two seats away from her.

Mr Schue ignored all the remarks and continued to speak. "Now some people think
of the term 'Easy Listening' as a bad thing. But I'm going to let this music speak for itself. You guys love Lady Gaga and the Rolling Stones..." He made his way around the room, passing out sheet music to everybody. "And you guys are really good about putting it all out there. But really good music can also be controlled, and restrained. It doesn't have to attack an audience, it can let them come to you"

Finn furrowed his eyebrows at the paper. "How could you get caught between the moon and New York City? They're like a hundred miles apart". Stephanie snickered while both Quinn and Santana let out a deep sigh.

Brittany, as usual, just had a blank expression on her face.

"Mr. Shue? If I may," Kurt started and raised his hand for a second. "I think I speak for all of us when I say it's not that we don't love the idea of spending a week on this silky smooth Adult Contemporary, it's just that, as teens, this isn't the easiest music for us to relate to"

Stephanie and a few others nodded at the boys words.

"However, there is a burgeoning Facebook campaign that has swelled to over five members. The ardent demand: That this week, at the fall homecoming assembly, the McKinley High School Glee Club performs a number by...

She turned to the Latina and they both exchanged excited looks before Artie added "Spears, Spears, yeah".

Mr Schue pulled an annoyed expression and attempted to regain everybody's attention. "Sorry, Kurt, Kurt, sorry. No, no, no. I don't think she's a very good role model"

Santana rolled her eyes. She glanced over to Stephanie and when their eyes met, gave a small smile before looking towards Rachel and Tina as they voiced their opinions.

"But, Mr. Shue, we kind of grew of up with her"

"She's literally why I wanted to become a performer"

"I don't want to do Britney" Stephanie's head whipped towards the blonde next to her and furrowed her eyebrows.

"Why no Britney, Brittany?" Kurt seemed as equally interested as Steph.
