As they held the last note, Stephanie covered her mouth with her hand, trying to contain a laugh.

Mike attempted to clap, only getting two out before Tina pulled his hands down slowly.

Mercedes turned to Santana. "Okay, do i even need to say it?"

"That was really rude." Sam added with a light chuckle.

"It was, like, really rude."

Quinn finally spoke after remaining silent throughout the whole performance. "I seriously wanted to punch both of you."

"I thought it was awesome." Stephanie mumbled to Quinn sarcastically, earning a glare from the girl.

"I have to agree." Mr Schuester said, referring to the points the others made. "It's a great duet, but what you guys did with it was... really inappropriate. Your costume choice was a little insensitive. Frankly, i'm disappointed."

Rachel shook her head. "What?!"

"Are you serious?" Finn added, raising his eyebrows. "I'm.."

"Shocked!"
"Shocked" They both said turning to each other.

"We're...We're shocked." Rachel managed to stutter out, trying her best at acting, making Stephanie cringe. "I-I...I really hope that this doesn't cost us the competition."

"Yeah, uh"

"Let's sit down. Come" She finished and dragged the bewildered looking boy into his chair.

"Well, getting back on track, who's next?"

Sam and Quinn stood up from beside Stephanie, the girl whispering a small 'good luck' to them.

"Okay," Sam started, grabbing his guitar. "I just want to say i'm really excited, and that i couldn't have asked for a better partner."

Quinn gave the boy a shy smile and placed her fingers on the strings in the form of a chord.

"Hey" Santana said quietly when she approached Stephanie at her locker.

The blonde turned to her. "Hey."

"Look, i'm sorry Stephanie. I shouldn't have lied to you, and i shouldn't have agreed to spy for Sue. I promise i'll start telling you things instead of keeping them from you, but i miss my best friend."

Stephanie wanted to stay angry for a little longer, but she couldn't. Instead she smiled and pulled the latina into a hug.

"I missed you too"

Santana closed her eyes, burying her face into the girls neck, soaking up the sweet scent of vanilla she'd missed over the past week.

"Let's go to glee." Stephanie whispered, pulling away. She slipped her hand into Santana's as the two headed down the hallway.

The girls took their usual seats next to eachother again and Shue began to speak.

"Okay, since Artie and Brittany have dropped out of the race, i guess it's time to take it to a vote."

Stephanie looked around the room in search of her duet partner, but found that he was nowhere to be seen. He hadn't spoken to Stephanie or attended a glee rehearsal since they performed their duet.

She gave up and looked down to the piece of paper and thought for a second before scribbling down 'Sam + Quinn', helping out Finn and Rachel.

The teacher pulled the cards out of a hat one by one, adding up the results and sighed. "Well, even though it looks like almost everyone voted for themselves, even those who didn't compete," He said, looking in Brittany and Artie's direction. "We do have a winner."

"And the winner is..."

Everybody leaned forward in anticipation.

"...by three votes..."

Finn turned to Stephanie, wondering why the number was larger than two. She just winked at him, receiving a dopey smile.

"Sam and Quinn."

A few cheered for them, but Santana flipped out.

"What? What?" She said looking between Stephanie and Mercedes.

"Screw that! I want my stix!" She shouted, attempting to lunge at Sam but getting held back by Stephanie who whispered, "Calm down, i'll take you to breadstix."

"It was mine! No, I don't know how this happened." Rachel spoke, Finn nodding. "Unbelievable."

Santana leaned into Stephanie's chest and began to sob.

"This is so not a date" Quinn muttered to Sam, while Finn and Rachel celebrated their win.
