Kirishima- Best Friends to Lovers

Prompt: Kirishima and the reader have been best friends since kindergarten, and have developed feelings for one another (inspo from https://prompts.neocities.org/)

First day of kindergarten:

         You watched a little boy with black hair come running into the classroom, and then towards you, since you were standing by the door. He smiled wide at you, and he waved. "Hi! My name's Kirishima Eijiro!" You smiled shyly at him, and introduced yourself. "Hi! I'm (Last name) (First name)!" The smaller boy smiled, and he set his bag down. "Wanna play together?" You smiled and nodded, and then you were being dragged away to the play area before your teacher started class.

High school:

         Ever since that fateful day before kindergarten, you and Kirishima had been inseparable. When you both got accepted into U.A. High School, you were over the moon with joy. You both were in the same class for the hero course, too! When you got the letter one afternoon, you ran down the many blocks to his house. You knocked on the door, waiting for him to answer.

When he did, you smiled at him. "Any news yet?" He smiled and nodded, holding up his acceptance letter. "I got in! What about you, (Name)?" You held yours up. "Me too!" Kirishima smiled wide, and hugged you tightly.

You both celebrated that day with your families, seeing as being heroes had been each of your dreams since childhood. On the first day of school, you both walked up to the gates together.

"Wow... It's so big!"

Kirishima laughed. "Yeah! But just think- We'll be training to become heroes!" You nodded, and gave him a determined look. "C'mon!"

You grabbed his hand, and ran inside with him, smiling happily. You found your homeroom together, and you let go of his hand. "Ready, Kiri?" He smiled at you. "Yeah!"

You pushed the heavy door open, and you both walked inside class 1-A. You took your seats, which weren't anywhere near each other, much to your dismay. Then, class started.

The day was quite hard, with Aizawa's tests on the first day. You placed well, though, and so did Kirishima. You felt bad for the guy who placed last, even if he wasn't expelled like Aizawa said he would be.

The days at U.A. were easy sometimes, but most times training was rigorous. Though, you guessed that's what heroes in training needed. Your time at U.A. was well spent, almost always being spent training, in class, or with Kirishima. Little did the red-head know, you had a major crush on him. You'd liked him since middle school, and sometimes just being around him made your cheeks flush as red as his hair. It was quite embarrassing, and your other female classmates tended to tease you about it occasionally. You were with them, at the moment, Kirishima with his guy friends.

"Guys, I can't just ask him out, what if he says no?"

Uraraka sighed, trying her best to convince you Kirishima liked you back. "(Name)! Have you seen how he looks at you? Especially during training!" You pouted, and shook your head. Mina laughed. "It's so obvious! That boy's in love with you!~"

Your face turned red, and you sighed. "Well, then... How do you think I should ask him?"

Meanwhile, Kirishima had the same dilemma.

"Kaminari, I can't just flirt with her endlessly and expect her to know how I feel!" Kaminari sighed. "Then just ask her on a date, man! She likes you back!" Sero nodded along. "It's so obvious, how have you not noticed it?"

Kirishima sighed, and he shrugged. "I dunno! I guess I haven't been paying attention enough... You really think she likes me back?" Kaminari and Sero both smiled, and spoke simultaneously.

"YES!"

So, each of you now had a plan to ask each other out. You had gotten Kirishima a red teddy bear, and had written him a note. You planned on leaving it in his dorm, feeling too nervous to ask him in person. While he was training with Bakugo, you snuck into his dorm and left it on his bed, smiling to yourself. You left quietly, and then ran back over to where your friends were waiting.

"Okay... I guess we wait until he sees it, right?"

Kirishima wasn't training, though. He was with Bakugo, but he was out getting you flowers. He had Bakugo with him to make sure he didn't back out of this, because he too was super nervous.

"Just get the prettiest ones, Shitty Hair."

Kirishima sighed. "No, I'm trying to find her favorite flower! It's usually here." He looked for a bit longer, and then smiled. "Yes!" He picked up a bouquet of your favorite flower, and he bought it. He also bought you a small box of chocolates, knowing you loved them.

He walked back to the dorms, and started to get a lot more nervous. He stared at the entrance dorm hall, and he swallowed hard.

"I can't do it."

Bakugo sighed heavily. "Yes, you can! Just go in there and ask for a date!"

Kirishima looked up at him. "Bakubro, what if-"

Bakugo looked at him with an irritated expression. "Listen, Shitty Hair. She likes you, okay? Everyone sees it, even Sparky! Plus... if you back out now, it wouldn't be very manly, would it?" He smirked, knowing that would push Kirishima to go ask you.

"You're right! Thanks Bakubro!"

Bakugo scoffed. "Whatever. Go get her." He walked away, and Kirishima walked inside, surprised to see you standing by his dorm with his friends. Uraraka gasped, and she started giggling. Mina saw too, and she smiled. You looked at them, confused. "What?"

Uraraka pointed, and she smiled, turning you around. You locked eyes with your best friend, and both of you blushed heavily. "Oh... Kirishima?"

He smiled at you, and he hummed quietly. "Um... hey, (Name)... These are for you-!"

He held out the flowers, and the chocolates. You walked over, and you took them. "My favorite! Thank you, Kiri!" His blush darkened, and he smiled. "Y-you're welcome... I, um- I was wondering, (Name), if you'd like to go out sometime?"

You gasped, and you suddenly smiled a bright smile. "Really?" He nodded, and he smiled. You hugged him, being careful with the flowers. "I'll give you an answer after you go in your room!"

He gave you a confused glance. "What's in my room?" You giggled. "You'll see!"

Kirishima opened the door to his dorm, and he saw the teddy bear. He smiled, and then read the note.

'Will you go out with me? Check yes or no. Love, (Name)'

Kirishima smiled, and checked yes. He handed it back, clutching the teddy bear tightly. You smiled. "Well, if you'll go out with me, then I guess I have to go out with you, right?" You giggled, and smiled at him.

Kirishima blushed again. "Y-yeah!" You leaned up and kissed his cheek softly. "I'm free this weekend, Kiri." You smiled, blushing still, and waved. "I'll see you later!" You left, holding the flowers against yourself.

Kirishima sat on his bed, and he looked at the red bear in his hands. He smiled at it, and he sighed happily.

"See you later, (Name)!"
