Late, late, late...
I twirl around my room, throwing on my uniform, and grabbing various supplies to stuff into my backpack. Once I've got all the textbooks and sheets of paper I need, I rush out of my room without a second glance.
I slept through my alarm. Again.
I glance down at my phone. A text from Hikaru is the only notification I have. Don't have time to check that now...
Rushing down the stairs, and nearly tripping at the bottom, I run into the kitchen, grabbing a bag of bread off the top of the fridge. I open it hastily and take two pieces out.
Just as I'm about to get out of the kitchen, my mom sleepily trudges into the doorway yawning, her black hair messy. She blinks up at me with her blue eyes, the same color as my sister's.
"Anna... shouldn't you be on your way to school?" she asks tiredly. Like me, she's not a morning person.
"Yes, I'm going now!" I say, giving her a quick hug as I race out of the kitchen and to the mudroom. I spot my converse where I left them yesterday afternoon. Gritting my teeth, I lean down to throw them on. Why did it have to be the hardest shoe to tie I own that's the only one out?
"Bye, mom!" I call just as I'm finishing lacing up the second shoe.
"See you... tonight," she says. I can hear the coffee grinder turn on just as I shut the door. Fumbling with the keys for a moment, I manage to lock the door with one hand. Shoving the keys into my backpack pocket, I break into a run.
And that was how my second day at UA began.

"Kiyo! It is highly disrespectful to be late to class!" Iida says as he chops his way over to me, leaving whoever he was previously pestering.
"Yes, yes," I say as I roll my eyes. From the looks of it, only about three-fourths of the class are here anyways. So much for the rush.
As I situate myself at my desk, someone sits on my right. I look up and see Todoroki. Silently, I glance away. I don't feel like talking to him after what happened yesterday.
I pull out my book and begin to read. I don't look at what Todoroki does.
Even though I will my eyes to cross the page, they only gloss over the words instead of taking them in. The space in between us suddenly seems close. I can feel the tension between us, seemingly sucking all the air from the room.
I'm about to break the silence when Yaoyorozu sits in the desk next to me. A rush of relief overcomes me. Why am I so relieved that I don't have to talk to him?
I shake the thought out of my head and proceed with the rest of my day.

"Now, which of these four sentences contains a mistake?" Mic asks, looking up from the board. I scrutinize the sentences before raising my hand, at the exact same time that Yaoyorozu does. I smile at her, and she returns it.
"Oh, so many hands!" Mic says happily. He stands there for a moment before saying,
"Kiyo!" he dramatically points at me with a piece of chalk. I flash a quick grin of victory at Yaoyorozu before answering,
"It would be number 3. Instead of 'Please tell me that all you know.', it should be "Please tell me all you know". " I say.
"Correct!" he says with a flourish, circling the sentence on the board.
The rest of the classes are much less exciting. They contain all your standard subjects-math, science, etcetera. The only noticeable thing that occurred during the entirety of them was when Kaminari went into a sneezing fit during math, and even that wasn't very funny.
