Ao and Jai left the building just as the school was locking up. Teachers had left early due to a staff meeting in a different facility. The taller, slim girl flicked her short hair off of her shoulders and glanced to her friend.
"Soooo...I was thinking that we could rent some of those smart bikes and ride to that cafe you were talking about!" She beamed, content with her idea.
"Alida. Ao. Whoever you are," Jai started, looking over and up at the girl. "Bikes don't have brains, headass. They can't be smart."
Ao rolled her eyes and shuffled through her bag. She pulled out the book from earlier and flipped back to page 793. She showed Jai the page, and a wide grin spread across her face. The first word on that page was 'Penis'
Ao chuckled, but Jai seemed less pleased. The frowning female whacked Ao upside the g'noggin. "Owww..."
The two continued to walk in silence, before they spotted two bikes chained to a ...bike rack? That's what they're called, right? Anyway, Jai smirked.
"Ao, cover me."
Ao looked around watching out for any bypassers. Jai took out some bolt cutters and cut the tarnished metal chain that secured their new mode of vehicular transportation.
Ao grabbed the bike that was decorrated with little froggies and Jai took the black dirt bike. The two mounted the stolen cargo and began to petal.
Behind them was shouting. Someone had seem them steal the bikes, and now was chasing them.
"LET'S BOOK IT!" Ao shouted, amping up the petal speed.
The two girls were going fast. Too fast. The whistle of a train boomed, but they couldn't hear it over the impossibly fast and loud wind whipping past them, filling their ears.
Before anyone knew it, there was a loud crash, two screams, a sickening crack, and all was silent.
