Y/n's POV
I walk through the door, ready to tell Jade the good news, but instead, my smile instantly drops as I see Jade on the couch, sobbing into her hands.

I rush over to her. "Jade, what happened?" I say, as I bring her into my arms. "Cat-she-she..." She stutters. "Babe, what about Cat?" Jade's breathing picks up. She starts shaking and hyperventilating. All I can do is hold her.

After a few minutes, Jade whispers. "She's dead."

My heart feels like it drops into my stomach. I freeze.    Tears well up in my eyes and fall down my face.

"What...are you talking about? What happened?" Panic rises up through me. This can't be happening. "Tori just called me. Cat's brother...it's his fault. It was very late last night and they were out and they came across this guy. Her brother kept messing with him and the man told him to stop or he'll be sorry. He didn't stop...he pulled out a gun and...and he shot her. She died immediately." Jade starts sobbing again so I pull her into my arms as I too let the tears fall.

A while later, Jade and I are just laying on the couch. Not speaking, not watching tv, just sitting. Staring into nothing. "We should get everyone over here. You know, to see how they're doing. Especially Robbie. We should all be together right now."

"You're right." Jade murmurs. I send out a group message and everyone agrees to come over. Our friends come over, all miserable. Robbie though, is the last to arrive. I open the door to see him in a t-shirt and sweatpants, glasses not on, hair messed up, hands in his pockets, and eyes all red and teary like he's been crying for hours. I immediately put my arms around him. I rub his back as he cries in my arms.

"I know you love her. I'm...so sorry." I say as my voice breaks. His arms tighten around me. "I had this whole plan to ask her out in the most special way." He whispers. "Because she was the most special girl...."

I pull back and lead him to the couch and I sit down in between him and Jade. I grab Jade's hand and look at all of our heartbroken friends.

"This isn't right. This group needs  Cat in it. It's just wrong without her." Beck says. "She should be making some comment about how much she loves kitchens or how tigers aren't purple in nature." Tori says. "Yeah, life ain't gonna be as interesting anymore. She made me laugh every single day." Andre replies.

"She sure had the weirdest, most random stories. Especially the ones about her brother." Tori says. "DO NOT TALK ABOUT HIM IN MY HOUSE. HE GOT HER KILLED!" Jade suddenly yells. I give her hand a squeeze and put my other hand on her leg. "Babe, try to calm down. I know this is a horrible situation, but the last thing we should be doing is yelling at each other right now. "But he-" "Jade." I cut her off. "We need to be supportive of each other right now so let's just try to not fight for a while, okay." She glares at me but after taking a quick glance at Robbie who is sitting on the couch and staring at the wall with tears continuously flowing down his cheeks, her face eases up and she gives me a quick nod.

The next few minutes were spent with the six of us not talking or even looking at each other. A piece of each of us died with Cat that night. There is now a void in our hearts that nothing will ever be able to fill. Nothing can ever take the place of the tiny, energetic, adorable, red head.
