"The Devil?!" The man laughed as we rode on through the bare terrain. I kept quiet and fell behind to ride beside the young woman, Emma, and her associate Teddy.

"Believe what you want Mr.Chisolm but Devil or not can you help us?" I nodded to Emma and the tension seemed to sag out of her body, at least most of it.

Faraday tried to crack jokes to ease the tension. He seemed like a man who liked to fill up the quietness with his voice and I smiled at a few of them. Sam stopped suddenly by a huge tree.

"Okay everyone we're gonna regroup here. Teddy and Faraday, your job is to find a fellow by the name of Goodnight Robicheaux. Bring him back here. I need to find out about our other guy. Emma and Alex will come with me."

"Ah, so he does have a name." Faraday quipped.

"Yes he does." Sam gave me a secret smile and I tilted my head.

We started on our separate ways.

"Alex, I need you to track this man down. His name is Vasquez." Sam pulled out a a wanted poster and I tilted up my hat to get a better look at it. I heard a gasp and turned to see Emma look at me with fear.

"What are you?"

"Oh, you know nothing too bad. Just a fallen angel."

Sam barked out a laugh and Emma turned red, still wary about me.

"I didn't know you were a woman." She mumbled.

"You never asked, you just assumed." I fired back.

"Well Ms.Emma you have nothing to worry about. She's on our side so I have confidence in our abilities and helping ya'lls town out. Now if she was on the other side then I would be worried."

Emma seemed to relax a bit and I pulled my bandanna down, giving her a smile. I felt bad for her. She was a woman who just lost her husband to some people who believed they could just take whatever they want. God really did seem to not care about his creations or just didn't pay enough attention to them. Some God they worship.

I tracked the man and stopped outside a cabin in the middle of nowhere. It looked run down and I could smell death inside of the cabin. I knew Vasquez was close.

"He's here. Stay close." We all dismounted our horses and Sam and Emma went in. I decided to tie the horses in a small clearing nearby, away from the prying eyes of others. I head some commotion and witnessed Emma being lassoed and slammed into the floor. I laughed at how hard she fell. I knew her ass would be sore.

"The gun." The man gruffed out.

"Give it to him."

"Andele."

Oh good, we got a Mexican.

Emma handed the man her gun and he kicked it away.

"He was already dead, if that's what you're wondering." The man confessed.

"You've been sleeping in here?"

"He doesn't snore much." I grinned at the man from behind him and Sam spotted me. He knew I would step in if needed.

"You Vasquez?"

"What's it to you?" The man looked behind him quickly but I stayed out of his line of sight.

"I'm gonna tear up a warrant. Just wanna make sure I'm talking to the right man."

Sam unfolded the paper and walked towards the man.

"You a bounty hunter?"

"Duly sworn warrant officer." Good for Sam. I knew he wanted to do good in the world.

"Where's your gun?" Vasquez taunted.

I pulled out my gun and pressed it to his head. I saw his adam apple move as he gulped.

"Well I guess you got me."

"I want to make you a business proposition."

"Does this business involve her?" Vasquez smirked at Emma and she started to fight against the rope. I didn't move the gun from his head.

"After this is done there is gonna be a lot of people after you still."

"Is that supposed to bring me comfort?" Vasquez said sarcastically.

"It should. Me and him won't be one of them." Sam nodded towards my direction and I saw Vasquez do a twirl and holstered his gun.

"You're loco my friend."

"Si"

I put my gun away and went up to Ms.Emma, pulling her to her feet and scanned her for injuries. When I was satisfied that I didn't spot any, I retrieved our horses and started on our way back.

After Sam did our introductions, Emma chose to ride closer to Sam which led me to ride by Vasquez. He turned his curious eyes to me and he took in my appearance.

My clothes consisted of a dark long sleeve and a vest over it with a heavier jacket on top of it. Brown gloves covered my hands, hiding the ancient markings on my hands while my flipped up collar took care of the ones creeping up my neck. A red bandanna covered half of my face while by dark brown hat was tipped low over my eyes. My long hair was tucked tightly in my hat, giving me an appearance of being male. My chest was binded so I appeared bulky.

Strapped to my saddle was a quiver and arrows which I made myself. A gun was strapped to my hip and so were some knives hidden throughout my body for me to throw in case I felt like getting a little dirty.

"Be careful, Alex likes to bite, Vasquez." Sam stated, noticing that he was staring at me.

"Does he have rabies?"

Emma huffed out a laugh,

"You better sleep with one eye open."

"I already do."

I urged my horse to go in front of all of them and let out a quiet sigh. Our meeting spot was ahead of me and I saw that we were the first ones to make it. I guess we would just have to wait.
