I was looking at the foggy gray sky I could see the little green house I was living in starting to get to far to see, I saw Alistair run out of his house with a smile while he was waving and brightly smiling at me, I giggled slightly and waved back before sitting properly in my chair. When I get comfortable in the chair I pull out my phone and my earbuds to listen to some music. I plug in my earbuds and scroll through my playlist before I found a song I wanted to listen to. When I found a song I liked I looked out the window to find autumn leaves flying through the air off the trees and on the road.

One of my favorite things about Earth is how the seasons change here. For instance, the way that the different colors on trees would change. Or how when autumn turns to winter as the cold air changes little by little everyday, and how Earthens celebrate their holidays and how different people do it.

On Elpis, it was mostly a cold place and they all believed in the same thing. They believed that there was something greater out there in the universe that was yet to be discovered. They all were taught about it. Even though they didn't fully understand what it was that they were searching for. But, her people always relied of faith and hope rather than other things. They didn't easily dismiss something because they could see or hear it. Which, was probably something that Earthens could not understand. Since they judge on what they see, and Elpens did things a whole lot differently than they did.

As I was looking out the window smiling, fascinated at the world around me, probably looking like a complete idiot, I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder and while I turned around I could see a girl with bright blue eyes and long blonde hair smiling and waving politely at me. As I turn off my music and take my earbud out of my ear I smiled back and she began to speak.

"Hi! You're new here aren't you?" She said still smiling, I nodded nervously while quietly replying. "Is it really that obvious?" She chuckled while shaking her head. "No, I just basically know everyone at the school." I nodded my head at every word she said relieved that I didn't look like the outcast I was. She held her hand out to me and I gladly shook it while smiling politely. She then proceeded to tell me some of the upcoming activities at the school but then stopped herself mid-sentence in realization.

"I forgot to introduce myself didn't I?" She asked with a shy smile while rubbing the back of her neck. I nodded my head and smiled understandingly. I was fine with her being silly in all honesty. She reminded me of my best friend back home on Elpis, so it was almost comforting to me that there was someone who would remind me of home.

The girl with long blonde hair smiled and she looked relieved that this new girl didn't seem to mind that she was being air headed that day. "Well, I'm Karen. It's nice to meet you." She said and she sat next to her and we were standing in front of big red doors that led into the auditorium as she looked me. She could've sworn that, she had seen underneath her beanie glowing. But, at this point she didn't say anything.

I hadn't noticed that underneath my beanie was doing something peculiar, and frankly I wasn't paying attention to it either. I was busy speaking with Karen and getting to know her. I really liked her, too. She was one of the best friends that I had while here on Earth.

She was so kind and passionate, she had a certain light to her that I hadn't felt for a long time. It was comforting. And since that me and my people felt things differently than Earthens, I could feel her compassion and sincerity in what she said as she spoke.

After a moment, there was a young man that seemed to just be a fireball of energy that wouldn't die out that came running and he picked up Karen from behind and spun her around. I laughed slightly and my horns glowed yellow, meaning that I was highly amused at what I was seeing.

Oh! I forgot to explain that part didn't I? Well, me and my people have small horns on our heads that grow with age. And we are able to sense the emotions of other people around us and we feel it on a whole new scale Earth sense. Along with that, according to what we are feeling our horns change color depending on our mood. For instance they turned yellow just a little while ago into the story, which equals happiness, amusement and on some occasions, surprised. Purple equals jealousy, red equals angry and so forth. Pink means embarrassment, which happens with me a lot to be honest. But, enough about that! Let's get back to the story!

Anyway, the young man was African American and he was long dark hair that was put in dreadlocks. He was very well built and he looked like he worked out in some way. Although, for all I knew it was normal for the male species to be big like that. It was like that on Elpis, and before Earth it was the only home that she had known. But, little did I know at the time that on Earth, things didn't work the same way on Earth at all like they did on Elpis.

The young man looked at me and he smiled brightly and he turned his attention towards me as he was keeping Karen captive in his big strong arms as he spoke. "Hey, haven't seen you around here before. I'm Issac." He said to me kindly. But, something seemed off about him. I didn't feel the same sincerity as I did when Karen spoke to me. Which, to me was kind of strange if I was being honest about how I felt.

However, at the time I decided to keep quiet about it. After all, I didn't have any proof about it and I was the new kid. That, and I had guessed that maybe Earthen emotions worked differently than mine did. I had heard stories about Earth before, and compared to where she was from, Earth was very young considering that it was one of the only planets in the universe that didn't have the technological advantages that most of the others had. Which to me was proof that it was still so young.

Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked again. I shook the unsure feeling that I was experiencing and I smiled kindly at him attempting to hide my unsettled feelings that I had at the time that we first met. I pushed those feelings aside for now, but if they continued then I was going to tell Alistair about it. "I am Nadia." I said and I was being as polite as I could. As I stood there, I could see that he was sort of, examining my features.

Isaac was indeed examining my features. He was scanning me, almost. He looked over my light blonde hair and how it was pulled back in the ponytail that was currently draped over my shoulders. He looked at my ice blue eyes and I looked at him curiously trying to figure out what he was hoping he would find.

What did he want? Why was he looking at me so intently? I wasn't sure, and at the time, a part of me wanted to know why. But the other part of me, the part that had a unsettling feeling, wasn't so sure that I did. For all I knew, it could've been something far worse than I could ever imagine.

After we spoke for a moment with each other, I could hear the school bell ringing and I flinched and put my hands over my ears as quickly as I could. "What is that?" I asked as I was holding my ears tightly. I had very sensitive ears, so loud noises such as this one along with other sounds that I wasn't used to, were seriously irritating to them.

My ears are pointed like a Earthen's elf ears. We had them because it helped us hear clearer. Which, I was starting to think was a curse to have if those kinds of sounds were everywhere on Earth. And I quickly learned that there was.

Karen looked at me with a confused look and she looked in disbelief as well. I should have probably known that I shouldn't have asked. At the time though I was more concerned not having my ears bleed from all the noise rather than hiding what I am. "It's a school bell." She said in almost a duh kind of tone, but I could tell that she was trying to keep her sarcastic comments at a minimum.

Isaac was also confused. He was aware that I was homeschooled before attending the school that I was at that moment, but he wasn't aware that I was from another planet from what I could tell. "It rings every time there's class." He explained and he tried to be nice about it. If he wanted me to do what he wanted, then he was planning on playing nice for now.

I nodded my head and I had a small blush of embarrassment and my horns turned pink meaning that I was extremely embarrassed at the moment. I looked at him and I followed Karen to our biology class. I walked down the hallway with her and when we reached the door I looked inside the classroom. This was the first class that I had taken in my entire life.

Wish me luck?
