You ease my fears,
You don't leave me unloved.
You're bad for me,
You hurt me.
But you're always there for me.
I show up at your door,
Bleeding,
Drunk.
You sigh and take me inside.
You watch my haunted eyes,
And hold me when my sadness leaks into my voice.
When I laugh at my misery,
You squeeze me tighter.
You say I'm a little fool.
That you love me,
My home is in your heart.
No matter what happens,
You'll always be there.
But I gave my heart away.
To some one who cares more,
For their image,
For who others see them as,
Than me.
They are sick of my sadness.
I don't blame them.
That's why I'm here again.
Asking forgiveness,
At your doorstep.
