Hey there! How are you doing, wherever you are in this crazy world of ours?

Thank you for 200+ reads just at the fourth chapter! Wow, I'm glad you guys are all liking it.

I think this is easily my favorite chapter. I always imagine Shayne to be that kind of guy who takes the extra lengths for someone he sincerely loves. You'll find out why!

Anyway, Courtney's POV and see ya!

Dreams are just too good to be true, but when a part of them becomes reality, you then keep asking yourself if, in return, the universe will take as much away from you in the form of sadness or fear or worry or anger.

For the past four weeks (so technically a month), Shayne and I have been living together because of the divorce documentations Atty. Lopez had required us to have. It's basically just a certificate that we live in this apartment, but he told us to have actual pictures of us actually being in love with one another. Shayne had started randomly taking pictures of me whenever I cooked breakfast, and I would take pictures of him every time he was watching football on his TV. We also took pictures together, more of mirror selfies on the famous Shayne mirror and also selfies while lying down on the bed. When it came to sleeping though, we had bought a long pillow to mark the boundaries on the bed. It made it a bit difficult to sleep in, so eventually we just decided not to look at each other at night. Which was also difficult.

But anyway, so far, documentation has been going great, and Shayne's not that bad of a roommate. I had a fever some time ago, and he came up with some amazing soup and a magic drink called Shayne's Special Solution, which tastes horrifying but actually did the trick, not because it was healthy but because Shayne made it for me.

That was the bad part, however, because I really liked him. Not yet in love, no, but you know what happens in these kinds of things. In Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock's "The Proposal" from 2009, they fell in love in the span of a weekend, while my pathetic ass has been liking this guy's pathetic ass for years now, and now I get to live with him for an entire year before breaking it off and never ever having the chance to tell him that I genuinely liked him.

But it's okay. I can find other guys and girls to like, and he wouldn't mind, because he's also looking for other girls to like. We're all doing cool in here, and neither of us would mind. It would break my heart though if, right after our divorce, he's finally going to get married to the girl who deserves the beautiful ring he accidentally gave to me.

I glance at my finger. The ring is not there.

"Holy crap," I mumble, getting out of bed immediately. "Where's my ring?"

It was already eight in the evening, and I had just gone home from a whole day of shooting at the Smosh office. I touch my finger, I check my other hand. No ring. I thought I was just dizzy that it seemed like an optical illusion. Things are too good to be true and all that jazz, but now my ring with an engraving of what Shayne and I are supposed to hide is MISSING.

I instantly give Shayne a call. He was doing a night shoot at The Goldbergs, but I was hoping he'd pick up anyway. He does after three rings, "Hello?"

"Shayne, oh my God," I say to him as I search in the bathroom. "I lost my ring. I don't know where it is. I'm still searching here in the apartment, but I must have taken it off during a shoot earlier at Smosh, and I don't know because what if someone finds it there and finds out that we're---"

"Hey, hey, hey, shhhh," he tells me. "Calm down for a moment, okay? Go search for it in the apartment, and I think the office hasn't closed yet, because Damien's still there when I left at six earlier. They're doing an evening shoot for What're Those with Sarah, Kimmy, and Tommy. If you can, just sneak into where you've gone today, okay?"
