5. We are about to be dropped in behind enemy lines!

Thank you so much for 400+ reads! Honestly, wow, I'm surprised that there actually are readers in this book, because this was extremely last minute-ly thought of. I formulated this while eating lunch, and now here we are! Still eating lunch, that is. (JK, it's midnight as I'm publishing this.)

Anyway, I'm beyond overjoyed to see how Smosh is actively joining protests for BLM. They're becoming great examples for their viewers, and I am so happy that I am in the right community who supports and believes in them. Let's go help them out if we can through petitions, sharing, and if you're in the area, protest!

"No, no, don't get that."

"Hey, I'm the one who moved into your apartment. At least I should get the final say on everything we're buying today."

"Yeah, but I'm paying today, so do you want me to double everything we're buying in two weeks because you'll be paying by then?"

"You have a point, but come on. We need this."

"No, we don't need new toothbrushes, we just got new ones--- Courtney, no. No. Just because they're Rick and Morty designed doesn't mean we need them."

Courtney sighs and puts back the Rick and Morty toothbrushes back in the shelf. "I'll come back for you," she whispers to them, touching them softly before pushing the cart.

Believe it or not, it's been almost two months since the whole mishap. Since Courtney and I are friends, it was much easier for us to adjust to living together. Atty. George mentioned that most Vegas married couples were usually strangers, and divorces would push through easily. In our case, it was good that we were friends, and close ones too, because we could simply pretend that nothing ever happened. That we were just wasted and fell asleep in the same room.

But of course, I knew it wasn't going to be easy to pretend afterwards. It was going to be awkward between us, because things would have changed by a lot. I still keep asking myself what pushed me to leave the shoot early to buy Courtney a new ring. The next time I returned to the set, I was scolded, and the ring was also expensive. But I didn't tell her that and even had green gemstones placed on the gold ring instead. I liked Courtney, but whoever Shayne that bought the ring... it was still me, yeah, but I wonder in what depth of "like" I was down to actually do that.

Thankfully, no one ever seemed to have found the actual ring, so Courtney and I just assumed that it fell into the canals near Mythical or got disposed of. It was expensive, and it hurt me a little, but it was okay. Courtney's happy; that's what mattered.

Okay, maybe I've gone a little far down "like."

Today, we took the extra risk of doing groceries together. Great Gobbles LA was the battlefield, and we were the camouflaged soldiers in the enemy lines. We would normally take turns every two weeks, but the scheduling got a little too hectic, and one of us always forgets an essential of the other. For example, a couple of weeks ago, Courtney forgot to get me deodorant, and last month, I forgot to buy her tampons. It kept going on for a while until we decided that we'll just go shopping together so that no one forgets anything. The risk was that, this is Los Angeles. Many people we knew from inside and outside of work often shopped at this one particular Great Gobbles, so we were sort of doomed.

Courtney's a genius though. She had me wear a surgical mask, a pair of eyeglasses, and a cap. She also got me to wear the weirdest outfit I've ever seen: a pink collared shirt, a black leather jacket, a pair of Vans (which I think is the only good part of this outfit), and the big twist... glaringly neon green jogging pants. I looked like a joke, while her outfit was just a shirt, a skirt, boots, a mask, and she even has extensions tied into a ponytail. And she still looks pretty, so I look like a fool.
