I continued to stare as Catherine grabbed the handles and sat on the rod. I stared. She stared. I blinked. Shit! Everyone knows the rules. You blink, you lose.
I grumpily made my way to the tricycle and sat on it.
"Hand on tight and pedal. I'll navigate." The pesky rat, no wait, the stinky cat said.
"Of course. Nothing builds teamwork like driving a tricycle." I volunteered.
He sighed, "How else can you deal with clowns?"
"Did you just.."
"Yes. I just did. Now pedal."
Just as I was ready to pedal, Catherine looked at me like Simran looks at Raj before boarding the train.
She muttered sweetly,"Hey Garbage. You know, I think I know what's going on with you. So just for the safe side-"
"What?? Tell me lord oh-feline-so-smelly please. What is happening??"
"Shut up and listen carefully. Try and think of a time in your life that was not so long ago, but also had changed your perspective of the world."
"Oh-wait.." I could not remember any of my school's 'parent-teacher' meetings. So I thought of the time I last opened my eyes. The dabangg warehouses that changed my life forever.
" Yeah, now what?" I mumbled quietly.
"Now repeat after me. Oh Sahiti, Thank you."This was it. I am not a person who would repeat anything a cat would ask him to!
But well, I did. Sorry, but you know what a snob I am.
"Oh Sahiti, thank you" I said obediently.
"Well now Catherine, I am asking you something everybody reading this has in their mind. What did I just say? And more importantly, WHY??"
She looked at me like how Simran's dad looked at Simran before letting her catch the train. And said,
"Pedal."
His cat-tiness was really getting to me.
I pedaled sharply and he jerked backword. But apparently, he had experience in driving a tricycle. He easily maneuvered the monstercycle as we left through a small dark door I hadn't noticed before. After all I had more important things like exchanging insults with a talking cat and figuring advantages of having paws.
* Spoiler alert: they are kinda cute, but don't go with my arms.
We drove the monstercycle through a small and winding tunnel, getting cobwebs in our faces and small pebbles on the path. I was jumpy, because of the pebbles, when suddenly a small light had become visible.
We reached the end of the tunnel and I let my guard down. The monstercycle skidded and Catherine muttered something about the dangers of stupid people in this world. She applied the brakes bringing the monstercycle to a sudden stop. I bumped against her back and immediately pulled back.
The room we entered into wasn't much different from the last. I looked around for more cats and tricycles but what I saw made me puke with surprise.
"JEN, what are you doing here?"
