THE COMPLETE TRUTH

Chapter 7

24th December 2020
    I made his favourite chicken rice today. "Your dinner is ready." I said loudly. He rushed out of his room and was delighted to see his favourite chicken rice. "Thank you sweetheart."he said while eating. Once he had finished eating,he was about to leave the dining table when he started feeling uneasy. He started feeling pain in his chest.  I was standing right in front of him while he was writhing in agony. After some time he stopped moving. I went near him to check his pulse..... He's dead.I wasn't surprised to know that he's dead. He deserved it.I'm happy that I succeeded in taking my revenge. Tears flowed down my cheeks."Finally,justice prevailed."I said while wiping my tears. After an hour, I got ready and went to the police station.

    There,I confessed my crime.I told everyone the half-truth. I told them how my husband had post-traumatic amnesia.I confessed poisoning his food.Everyone there believed me...except officer Adam.He felt as if my story was incomplete.He felt as if there was more to the story. He wasn't wrong though.There was more to the story......I didn't tell him that time but now,I hope he knows the complete truth after reading the book. With this,my story ends......

12 August 2024(Present day)

   I was surprised and confused at the same time.What happened after Aria I mean Alaya saw Jake? She killed him on purpose?The end?What does Alaya mean? Thousands of questions were running in my mind.If Alaya killed Jerome on purpose,then she deserved to be hanged to death. Even if it was for her revenge,what she did was wrong.She had no right to disobey the law and punish someone on her own. I immediately called officer Raymon."Raymon,send a team now to Alaya's house.Arrest her right now.I'm reaching the police station in 20 minutes."I said."Who Alaya?"asked Raymon being confused."I mean Aria."I replied."It's 3 am!Besides,she had completed her punishment already."said Raymon. "I know.Just arrest her right now and I'll explain everything.It's an order Raymon."I said."Fine."said Raymon.I quickly got ready and was about to leave when I remembered the book.I took the book with me.It would be easier for me to explain.

   While I was driving,I couldn't stop thinking about Alaya. She wrote a book to me but why would she leave the part where she saw Jake incomplete. I drove really fast and I reached the office within 15 minutes.Officer Sandra was waiting for me."Officer Adam,what happen.Officer Raymon and his team went to Aria's house to arrest her but I don't understand.What happen?"asked Sandra."Aria isn't her real name.Her real name is Alaya and she killed Jerome on purpose.Here read this book,the last page."I said while passing her the book. Officer Sandra read the book and was surprised.I explained to  her the complete story."Woah,I can't believe this."said Officer Sandra. We both waited patiently for Officer Raymon."It's been an hour.Where is Officer Raymon?I'll call him."I said while dialing Raymon's number.Raymon didn't pick up my call and texted that he will be there in a while. Sandra and I waited patiently. Officer Raymon arrived after 2 hours but  without Alaya...."Where is Alaya? I mean Aria?"I asked in a worried tone."She's dead.She committed suicide.Her body was stinking. I took her the dead body to the hospital and got a post-mortem done.I requested the doctor to do it urgently and he agreed. Here are her reports.She died 4 days ago.She took the same poison(cyanide pill) that was given to Jerome."said Raymon while handing me Aria's reports."I don't understand one thing.Why did you ask me to arrest her?Why were you calling her Alaya?"asked Officer Raymon.

    I explained everything to him and he too was shocked. I was confused. Alaya committed suicide the same day she sent me this book.....I was busy in my thoughts when Officer Sandra called me."Look at this,there's a letter hidden in the back cover of this book."said Officer Sandra. Sandra cut the back cover with a penknife and took the letter out.She passed me the letter and I immediately started reading it.

"Dear Officer Adam,if you're reading this letter,it means you have found my dead body.I had complete faith in you that you will surely find this letter.I don't doubt your intelligence officer.The reason why I wrote this letter is because I've made a copy of this book and I've sent it to my dad too.This letter is to inform you that secret that I couldn't tell my dad.The secret is.....the dead body you recovered from my house...was of Jake not Jerome.....(TO BE CONTINUED)
