I came back to the bookstore earlier than the last few days in order to avoid that dog. I've heard of canines being clingy and close but he was different. The way he said things and presented himself made it obvious that's not how he usually acts. He's probably just like every other canine and wants to mark you to make them feel like predators again, then jump onto the next sheep or other prey animal. It's such a tired, old story. Besides for that inconvenience of an unwanted coworker, I've made decent progress in my own story. This change in scenery was exactly what this deer needed. I sat down and put some ear buds in. Eventually I would have enough money for a new pair, these are getting old. I continued the playlist from where I left off. It was an interview with the writers of A Moon's Shadow. They were a married couple and basically wanted to write out their love story with a few more fantasy like components. Umm... yeah sure their love was gay and was between two different animals. But love is love! ... yeah. I felt a claw suddenly strike at my shoulder repeatedly. I quickly jumped up and away from where I felt the claw, only to fall on top of Micah. He was quick to hug me close to him as we both fell. As soon as I registered what happened, I jumped off of Micah, who was dazed from the fall.
"What The hell?!" I screeched. He groaned as he rubbed his head.
"Sorry, I wanted two trick you bye tapping the opponent soldier... and Umm... ow..." Micah mumbled quietly. I looked down at him, confused. He seemed to just groan to himself for a bit, struggling to get up.
"... Umm... you ok?" I asked, stupidly. Opening his eyes to see my face, letting me see his canine eyes. They were bright yellow yet soft, reminding me of the low lights from the moon on a cold night. He then sat up and still cradled his head sourly. He scrunched his face in pain, and growled to himself. His fangs were so sharp and big. Seeing him grind his fangs together is so...
"Oh sorry! I no you don't like my famgs cause they scare... or not you... sorry...?" The wolf winced. i sighed. He obviously hurt himself. I should take him to doctor or something.
"Can you get up?" I asked him. I was weary about reaching my paws underneath his arms and picking him up. At any moment, he could totally reveal that he was faking this just to get me to a false sense of security.
"Oh, it's fine... I'm oh. Ow fine..." he growled, still holding his head, leaning on me for support.
"We're going to my car, don't fall asleep." I ordered. Hopefully he isn't delusional yet. I did take some time watching him writhe in pain, however. He nodded his head slowly. Oddly enough, I only saw my car out here. I get that Mr. Cele is barely here, but how did he get here? Oh well, one thing at a time. I put the wolf in my passenger side and buckled his seatbelt. I then walked to the other side and turned the car on.
"S-Sam, I'm sorry." He pleaded indistinctly. I sighed, not knowing why. At least if he's talking, he isn't sleeping.
"About what?" I asked, driving down the road. My Aunt is a nurse, so it's safe and easy. Let alone the fact that it's close.
"Lied... and you seamed happy and I wennalong with it. But I never red the story you talked about, and I'm sorry. I made ewe feel bad about my fangs, and I'm sorry... sorry..." Micah said, drifting off slowly.
"Hey... hey, hey, HEY! Don't go to sleep, that's one easy way to die. If you truly do have a concussion, then stay awake. Just talk, ok?" I asked. We were almost there, a few blocks away.
"Oh... I'm so-"
"Stop apologizing... umm. What did you have for breakfast today?" I asked. Luckily there wasn't anyone awake still.
"I don't wanna say..." he pouted tiredly.
"Just talk, I don't care." I groaned. I turned the corner to my aunts house. Just a few more houses.
"I had a sausage... and I liked it. And I have... like, the a um... uh. The apple cider vinegar and cakes." He mumbled, still stroking his head. How delusional is he? He may as well be intoxicated at this point.
"Sam can I have your phone numbers? I wanna talk more about you with me." He sighed, placing a paw of his gently on my arm, casually. His claws were as exposed as ever.
"Yeah I'll give you my number, but let's just get out the car." I said as I pulled the car to a halt.
"My head hurts..." he groaned as I walked to his side of the car. I picked him up again, this time he was even slower. I walked to the door and rang the bell. Standing their waiting, Micah rolled his head around on his neck. I made the executive decision to ignore him. He nose then nuzzled against my cheek to looked towards him without moving my face. His eyes were closed and he was still breathing. I shook him back to life and he went back to look around aimlessly. I'll wipe my cheek later. I nearly freaked out when Micah pushed his nose into my cheek again. His eyes were slightly opened this time, so I guess it's progress. He gave my cheek a small lick and nuzzled his head against mine and sighed. I shake him again as the door opened. It was obvious I woke her up. She looked at my extra baggage and then back at me.
"Bad concussion." I summarized. She sighed and let us walk in. This wolf better not die with me.I LOW KEY LOVE WRITING THIS STORY. MORE SOON!
